Arzu was great

We had a great day. She is very knowledgable. The lunch adjacent to the carpet place was great. Arzu was generous with her time but of course got us to our boat on time. Thanks!

The ruins of Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

A wonderful tour in the ruins of what one day was a large shopping center. A journey back in time and learning about the ancient customs of a people (the streets, the bathrooms etc) In addition the wonderful theater of èphesus which had 25 thousand people is fantastic to see. Our group was awarded a theatrical attraction.

An incredible Experience

Ephesus is one of the most beautiful and well maintained sites I have visited in more than 40 years of travel. The library facade is breathtaking and to stroll an area where our Christian disciples lived, preached and suffered for our faith is touching indeed.

Well maintained place

Appreciate the turkish authorities taking efforts in maintaining the historical treasure. The place was clean but crowded in the early hours.

Ephesus tour with Osman Tourism's Julia & "About Ephesus"
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We did a tour with Julia in Ephesus and it was fantastic She called me on the phone and I did not actually realize that she was going to be our guide until we got there and met her at the port. She was there with a board with our name on it, and she took very good care of us. We LOVED Ephesus and Mary's House. She also took us to a marvelous lunch and even had a special cake for our girls' sweet 16 birthday. The lunch was spectacular and held lots of very fun unexpected things, and we learned a lot about rug making as we got a demonstration. The only thing that I would mention is that the rug demo got a bit long, and they were really trying to sell us rugs. I had no idea that we were going to see this type of demo, and I wasn't prepared to buy rugs. We asked her to take us to a leather shop, and she brought us to a nice one where we were able to find some things, but we found more after we were dropped off near the port. Leather is big there, so keep that in mind when you go. She was a very informed guide, and we absolutely loved the experience. I would highly recommend this tour - especially if you can get Julia.

Poor English Skills (Gul Demir)
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Unfortunately, our tour with Gul Demir of Osman Turkzim (Ephreus tours) was the worst tour on a one-month trip. The main concern was her lack of fluency in English. She would regularly say the wrong word such as wheelchair (vs chariot), bat house (vs bath house), sheep (vs ship) and after a while it became challenging to be interested in listening to her. My recommendation is to ask to speak with the actual tour guide you are booking - at the Ephesus ruins it felt like most other tour guides spoke superior English and had an overall better presentation. Also, we took about 15 different tours on our trip and she did more on tour texting and cell phones calls than all of the other tour guides combined. Finally, be prepared to be on a tour that takes you to a rug factory which will involve you needing to say no a number of times to avoid purchasing a rug etc. (this may be a feature of most Ephesus tours)The driver did an excellent job. Our tour guide was friendly but it certainly did not make up for the other issues. This tour occurred on August 5, 2014.

We had an awesome day in Turkey!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We had a terrific day with our guide, Arzu, and my family ranks it one of the best days we had during our three week tour. We were met at the port by Arzu and our driver. We began our day with a stop at the House of the Virgin Mary. We were one of the first groups to arrive and we enjoyed the peace and tranquilly of the place without all of the people. Our next stop was Ephesus and were in awe of the whole place. I had been there 30 years before and it was like walking back in time, except for the discovery of the Terrace Houses. AMAZING!! Our lunch was delicious at the carpet making shop. My children, 9 and 12, loved holding and chasing the 3 month old ducks while my husband and I chatted with Arzu. After the demonstrations on how the silk was made into thread and the girls helped one of the weavers we headed over to another shop to watch pottery being made. Arzu suggested this for the girls, since they were getting a little antsy. The girls had fun "making pottery" on the wheel and we walked through the shop admiring the different pieces. Our last stop was the Temple of Artemis, a little of a let down after Ephesus, but we got to see storks at the sight. A first for all of us. Our day with Arzu was fantastic and we will definitely try to get back to Kusadasi.

PRIVATE TOUR OF EPHESUS WITH TOUR GUIDE, Koray
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Dave booked a private tour of Ephesus with Koray, with About Tours. He was to knowledgeable on the history of Ephesus which made the trip very educational and interesting. Koray also took us to others areas that we would not have know about. We enjoyed a luncheon at a wonderful cafe at a country side co-op where the local people made carpets and other had made crafts. We would not have know about these areas had we not had Koray as our guide. We hope to return to Turkey in 2017 and hire him as our guide to show us more of the beautiful country.Gerri Hayden & Dave Barrett

Unforgettable Tour of Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We cannot say enough about our memorable day in Ephesus! We booked a private whole day tour of Ephesus and had the most fantastic guide who was so knowledgable, educated, and spoke perfect English. In addition to this, he grew up in Ephesus playing in the ruins. He has a passion for this wonderful historical place and shared it with us for an entire day. We would not hesitate in recommending this company and tour and will use them again when visiting Turkey in the future. Enjoy this wonderful place!

Testimonials & Reviews

Our Guide brought Ephesus to life for us & was extremely informative; we even had people listening to him & complimenting him on being a much better guide than theirs from other companies. He guided us expertly to be at the front of the queues & out of the heat as quickly as possible.”
