About Ephesus Tour was an amazing experience
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

I booked my tour with Mr. Istemihan Teleri from the About Ephesus Team (Osman Tourism PLC). He answered all my questions via e-mail and provided all the information related to the tour in advanced. The tour guide's name is Istemihan Teleri. She was amazing!!!!!. I recommend her. My 13 year old son enjoyed listening to her stories. Transportation with air conditioning was perfect! We visited Mary's house, Izmir ruins, traditional lunch, carpet store and then back to the vessel. I almost forgot, they give you a party bag with souvenirs and tourist guide and information related to other touristic sites of Turkey. highly recommend this company.

Ephesus was the highlight of our cruise

We booked our own guided tour with Mr Istemihan Teleri of About Ephesus Tours 3 months before our cruise. We were met at Kusadasi on time and prior to this the arrival point in Turkey was to be Izmir. Not a problem to this tour company and without being prompted they had reduced the tour cost by US$5 because of the shorter distance to travel to Ephesus. Friens who had been before said that Ephesus was not be missed and how right they were. What an amazing place, particularly the Terrace Houses which were being worked on by archeological students. A lot of the excellence of this tour can be put firmly in the hands of our delightful tour guide Goncha whom we highly recommend as being well informed and who speaks very good English and has a ton of personality. We spent a good 3 hours here and it was eye opening and from our point of view a step up on other ruins we had seen such as Pompeii. After leaving Ephesus we went to a delightful little town Sirinice where we had a lovely typical Turkish lunch including refreshments. We then had a walk around this little town and bought some table mats and turkish delight before heading off to Rossini Leather in Selcurk. We had no intention of any of us, there were 6 of us, buying leather jackets but thanks to the private viewing, and the high quality of the leather goods available, we ended up purchasing 5 jackets between us at prices that we bargained heavily for and were happy to pay at the end. We have since found since coming home that they are well worth what we had paid for them and would cost considerably more for jackets of lesser quality. As a result of our wallets being lightened we needless to say did not purchase any turkish rugs at the next stop, and I must say, contraryu to what we had read that there was no pressure placed on us to buy. Overall the tour was extremely enjoyable and value for money and we had a brilliant day out, thanks very much to Goncha. About Ephesus is highly recommended to other people who are considering a tour to Ephesus.

When you listen the story about Ephesus, you will understand how they build 2800 years ago a city nearly 300k people living and theater about 25k and they had hospital and library and most important they had sanitary systems cross the city wow. Perfect places for the children seeing is believing.

Amazing history with an excellent tour guide

My wife and I booked this tour based on all the good reviews on TripAdvisor. We were accompanied by Mrs. Hulya Acar. We we transported in a luxury vehicle. Hulya informed us with more than adequate information about Ephesus, the house of Mary and Turkey in general. She answered all our questions professionally and with passion. We stopped at a small family owned carpet manufacturing farm. We found this very interesting, even though we couldn't afford any carpets. We were treated with a very nice lunch here.Thank you Hulya for your outstanding personal service, we will gladly recommend YOU to anyone else.

As a company Ephesus Tours was always on the ball with quick responses. I even requested Gonca and she showed up at the airport with our driver for an all day tour of the sites. We loved the info and her style. Very easy to talk to and informative. She fit in perfectly with what we needed in a guide. Great English too. We went to Ephesus first, off to lunch at a Nomadic restaurant which was very good, and saw the rugs and ceramics show, and had time for the Port of Ismur. My wife even had to buy a Turkish rug... a VERY large one.

Ephesus - don't book a guided tour, do it yourself is best

I spent a day and half at Selcuk primarily to visit Ephesus. In Istanbul I was advised to book a one day tour tour of Ephesus and ancillary sites (House of Mary, Temple of Artemis). I arrived in Selcuk at midday the day before so went out to Ephesus myself. Thus I had the interesting opportunity of being able to compare a self guided tour and a guided tour. Self guided was infinitely better. Partly because the guided tour did not include the `terrace houses' for which there is a seperate entry charge and yet this is one of the most fascinating parts of the site as the decorative schemes of many of the houses survive. In addition the guided tour was at an elementary level and the site provides interpretative signage which was just as good as the guide. With the exception of the House of Mary the other attraction on the guided tour the Temple of Artemis is walking distance from Selcuk as is St John's Basilica (which was not part of the tour but is well worth visiting). The tour included a very poor quality lunch (overcooked mush which had been in a bain marie all day) and unwanted stops at two shops. At $50 is was poor value. If you stay in Selcuk self- guiding at Ephesus is the best option. The site is only a short taxi-drive and can also be accessed by mini-bus for a few lira. Ephesus is wonderful!

Excellent tour at an affordable price

About Ephesus is a great company to work with. We were able to make our arrangements well in advance. Our guide and driver were experienced and our minibus was comfortable. We did their full day tour to Ephesus including the terrace houses and Sirince village. We did not enjoy Sirince Village- it is simply a shopping stop and not worth the time. This was our request however, not the tour company's.Travelers should be aware that lunch is at a place where they will explain how carpets are made and then show you a variety of carpets from around Turkey. There really is no pressure to buy and the demonstration is quite interesting- I just would have preferred to know in advance.

Private Ephesus Tour is a great idea

Our private tour of Ephesus was awesome. Our tour guide, Arzu Altun, is a certified Professional Tourist Guide and has a degree in ancient history. She was very knowledgeable about Ephesus and Turkey and gladly answered any question we had about the region. The private van that picked us up from our hotel was very nice and spacious. The driver, along with Arzu, were very professional and hospitable. It was very easy to book the private Ephesus tour and Mr. Istemihan Teleri was very helpful in booking the tour. We highly recommend this company!

Excellent Private Tour Ancient City of Ephesus & More

We took a Mediterranean cruise in June and booked this tour through https://ephesusbreeze.com. It was a good value, with 4 of us in a private van, tour guide Ali, and a driver. Mr Ali was very personable and knowledgeable about the ancient sites and the current state of Turkey. Lunch was included at a small family farm with excellent food. At our request, this was followed by a demonstration of carpet making that the 4 of us greatly enjoyed. All around, an excellent tour with Ali and "About Ephesus" Tours.

A grandiose site! A must see

Beautiful (short) day trip to Ephesus. From Kusadasi, the site is quickly reached. On site, we have an audio guide (recording with earphones) very convenient. This allows you to visit at your own pace!

Testimonials & Reviews

Our Guide brought Ephesus to life for us & was extremely informative; we even had people listening to him & complimenting him on being a much better guide than theirs from other companies. He guided us expertly to be at the front of the queues & out of the heat as quickly as possible.”
