After reading reviews on TripAdvisor we booked Mrs. Filiz Capraz of Osman Tourism. She was absolutely delightful and well informed. While our friends from the cruise ships boarded big buses we joined Filiz and her driver aboard a new Mercedes van for a more intimate tour at a price well under that of the cruise ship. We would highly recommend Filiz to anyone seeking to explore this amazing destination.

Beautiful Ephesus!

We booked with Ephesus Tours and I can truthfully say that all the raving reviews are true.We scheduled an early start in order to avoid the crowds. Our driver and our guide, gracious Gonca, picked us up and we quickly drove off to visit Mary’s House. Arriving early we were almost by ourselves. By the time we were leaving there were hundreds of people arriving! We were very happy with our decision to start early! Gonca was great! Her English was very good and shewas full of information, considerate and always ready to answer to all our questions, which were a lot. A perfect “host” that made us feel welcome, unlike the guide we used in Athens. We then headed for Ephesus. Words can’t describe Ephesus! The Terrace Houses, the Celsus Library, the Grand Theater… Gonca was a wealth of knowledge and showed us everything. I think that I am talking on behalf of everyone when I say that I would have happily spent two whole days in Ephesus with Gonca as my guide of course! After our visit we were driven to a rug factory. I must say that we were a little apprehensive having read how “pushy” owners can get and shared our thoughts with Gonca. She reassured us that the owners were kind people and of course we should not feel we had to purchase anything if we did not want to. It was actually an interesting experience. We were able to see how carpets are made and offered lunch. We politely declined the sales offered and did not feel at all pressured to buy.At the end of the day we were returned to our cruise ship happy with our tour and very satisfied with our choice.Great value for money! We definitely recommend Ephesus Tours and when you book don’t forget to ask for Gonca.

ephesus

It is well worth going to ephesus and getting to know the ruins of this city. One day is enough to see the main attractions of the city, such as the ruins and the rebuilt house of Maria (supposedly). It is worth seeing the mosques and, after all, take a walk on the edge of kusadasi, which is also beautiful.

Great tour, great tour guide, great van

We booked the private Ephesus Tour for a group of 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 18 months and 2 yrs) while visiting via Royal Carribean cruise. The entire experience from original e-mail to booking was amazing. We just had to pay a small $20 deposit via paypal before arrival.Any tour with small children is challenging, and they made it easy by having car seats as requested. Our Tour guide Ms Selda was awesome. She met us right off the ship and walked us straight to our awaiting Mercedes minivan. I stopped on the walk to the van and bought a bottle of water, there were plenty of opportunities along the way to purchase drinks so if you forget to bring something no big deal. She gave us a great tour and talked about our destinations on the way there as well as when we got there. She made it a point to give us free time without her so that we could explore. This was great, and she knew the right mix of guided and free time. After our day of touring we ended the tour at a eating place that was such a cool setting. Lots of animals (rabbits, birds, goats etc...) in cages and some roaming free, and we ate outside overlooking beautiful scenery. Our kids loved the animals and some of the people walked our kids around to visit the bunnies and birds so that we could finish eating. We ended lunch with a carpet demonstration and carpet selling. We did end up buying a few carpets, but the experience was awesome, and I never felt bullied into buying anything. All is all great tour, great customer service, highly recommend avoiding the large group cruise organized tours, and go with a private tour, you will likely find it more enjoyable and even cheaper. The other bonus is that our older kids stayed on the boat in the wonderful kids club which they wanted to do and thus everyone was very happy with their day. My only bit of advise is that lunch is pretty late 1230-1300 if your ship arrives a 9:00 so bring a snack or purchase something at one of the stops to tide you over!

Private tour of Ephesus

We had a private tour with Gonca Dasdemir thru Osman Tourism on 3 Nov 2013. It was great! Ephesus was our first stop on a Celebrity "Greek Isles" cruise and a great way to start; the weather that day was perfect, which certainly helped as well. We opted for a private versus Celebrity cruise that one day because none of the latter's offered the combination of the House of Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis, the Ancient City of Ephesus, AND the Terrace Houses. And, for what we saw, the price was also comparable. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend the out-of-the-way drive to the House of the Virgin Mary, especially; the ruins at Ephesus and the Terrace Houses, which are not open to the public for free, are far more worth the time and money. In any event, Gonca was a great guide (which was also a plus as it was just her, our driver, my wife and me--versus organized groups of at least 20. She met the cruise ship exactly as promised; her English was perfect (as was every one of our guides at each of our other cruise stops); explanations of each walking stop thorough; the driving spot on. Our only additional expense--known upfront--was a tip at the end for both her and our driver. The restaurant at the end was typically Turkish; excellent food (included); as well as a rug-making demonstration and the obligatory sales pitch, with far less pressure than in downtown Istanbul, for example. I'd highly recommend both the Osman Tourism tour agency, as well as Gonca specifically.

Lovely

We spent a lovely half day tour with Filis. She was a very good guide. Knowledgable, helpful, interesting, and is serious about her job. We were her last tour of the long season, and she did not wilt. For a bit less than the cruise ship tour price, we had a private tour for two people with a very nice van for transportation and Fahti, who was our driver, did an excellent job. We had a half day stop in Kusadasi and she timed everything perfectly. No rushing, or dragging our feet, just a nice even pace.

Already Did That........

This is not a negative review. In fact it is a very positive one.Second time in Turkey I have used this service. Both excellent. Having already been to Ephesus in 2008, we arranged to do a different tour from Kusadasi (Ocania, Riviera) of Pyrine, Didyma, and Miletos. We were a group of six and I did all the arranging. The staff at Ephesus Tours, headed by Mr. Teleri, who I communicated with by email, did a great job of responding to my interests and inquiries and taking care of all the details including honoring a request to not be exposed to any carpet salesmen. We were met promptly at the cruise terminal and boarded a beautiful Mercedes bus with seating for probably 12. We had plenty of room to stretch out. In Turkey you have both a driver and a guide. They cannot be combined and you wouldn't want them to be. Our guide was a young lady named Arzu. Fabulous! Well informed of the history, archaeology and politics of her country and each site we visited. Licensed guides in Turkey are very skilled and passionate. Watch out for companies offering lower rates but with unlicensed guides. It happens although turkey seems to do a better job of regulating this than Italy or France. The itineray we chose is a very good alternative to Ephesus if you have already seen that site. Perhaps the highlight of the tour was the included lunch. The restaurant we stopped at was a place that caters to tours. You'd think you might want to avoid such places. You would be wrong. A delicious assortment of Turkish specialties heavy on the veggies and fish. All excellent and authentic.I highly recommend this touring company. You need to reserve early.

Wonderful Tour- Less than cruise ship prices.

We had a great day in the Kusudasi area with our guide, Ms. Arzu. We added several fellow cruisers to our group and they quickly accommodated us with a larger van. We went to Sirince first and spent more time there than we intended, but it wasn't a problem. Lunch at the rug factory is well worth the stop. We didn't buy a rug, but it was an interesting tour and presentation. Even the quick stop at the leather outlet was fine. Nice little fashion show and explanation of the lambskin leather. We didn't buy a coat either, but no pressure in either place. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Ephesus and, even though we were running a little late by then, gave us a great tour of the area including the terrace houses. Our recommendation would be two hours in Sirince, and two hours in Ephesus including the terrace houses.

Ephesus private tour

We booked our private tour to Ephesus before we went on our cruise, we were met by canan (our guide) on the dockside when we disembarked from our ship, She introduced us to our driverand the private air conditioned Merc taxi, from then things just got better and better.Canan took over and we went to all the places that we wanted to go to and was an excellent guide around the ruins of Ephesus. Canan has a vast knowledge of all the ancient ruins. We also had a typical Turkish lunch in a Gazebo in the middle of a garden where Canan took us.All in all the tour was brilliant and so easy to book from home and exceeded our expections on all fronts. I can thoroughly recommend this tour company to anyone who wishes to use it.Brian

Fantastic Touring with Ephesus Tours
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

The reviews in Tripadvisor helped me choose this company over the other thousands available on the internet. Guided tours with cars comes with their price but it is also a nice and safe way to enjoy the sights, if there is so much historical story behind the places. This company excels in communication. They personally called me to confirm all tours and discuss my needs and agenda. There was no obligation to pre-book or commit. They arranged for very good quality guide. Huliya is the best. We loved her. My son is her new fan. Knowledgeable in local history, and at ease with the places of interest. She moved with us at our pace and gave us time for enjoying the places in Ephesus and Pamukkale and Hireapolis at our pace. The food places where very good. We loved the carpet cafe (Turkmen). Although not prepared to buy any this time, I am sure we will come back to them. Car and driving was very good. so was the timing and arrangements. Although it was a rush to reach the airport, as we just wanted to stay on and on, we made it on time thankfully. The parting gift of small souvenirs and guidebook was a nice touch. We left with very good memories

Testimonials & Reviews

We were on a 2-week cruise throughout the Mediterranean and thanks to reading reviews like this one, we decided to book a private tour through Ephesus Breeze. It turned out to be one of our best decisions on the trip and one that I would recommend without any reservation.”
