Unforgettable experience!! 15th wedding annivesary day made awesome!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We were so impressed with this area and our guide Johnna (? spelling-- see pic). What an incredible day experiencing an amazing place. From the history, archaeology, and culture, we were blown away. So much better to have a "friend" to guide you within country than the impersonality of a big cruise group. Our guide was knowledgeable and kind, and we were even able to meet and spend time with a local archaeologist she knew that had been on site for last forty years. Local lunch in garden setting at cultural center was great. Would highly recommend this tour company and our guide. Thanks for such a special memory!

Fantastic, from the entrance, to the chamber of deputies, fountain, girls house, public toilets, library and theater for 25,000 people. Since 4, everything is good. There I met the goddess Nike. I thought I was wearing sneakers ... but

sea song tours sideshow

The tour started off well for group 20 purple on princess cruise 11.09.2013,with a well informed guide of the Virgin Mary's last resting place in the mountains, then onto the Roman ruins of Ephesus. After this ,the guide handed out the appraisal sheets on the bus. I rated it very good which most did, then the guide picked all the appraisal forms up, this is when the show started. We were told that an optional carpet making tour was included when we booked the tour. The tour guide proceeded to tell a story of how the tribesman come down from the mountains to sell these carpets. He then went on to tell about the great hospitality of the Turkish people and to refuse to go to the carpet show would have been a great insult to refuse, as there hospitality is so great that they would offer you their bed if asked. I have no doubt that this may have happened 200 years ago but not now.The carpet place which included a jewellery store just outside the port was just a slick front for Turkish generosity. We were all herded in, after 10 mins of carpet making then the big sales pitch that went for another half an hour. When we went to leave the main exit was blocked, so you had to leave through the jewellery store for one more attempted gouge. I was so angry at mine and everyone's good will been used against us by this tour guide. Sea song so long!!!

Mythical

Ephesus is one of the mythical places that you absolutely must see. From Kusadasi, a 20-minute drive is necessary. Suffice to say that the doors of this lost city are really close and it would be a shame to miss.

We booked a tour at 17 September 2013 from Izmir port to Ephesus. Vip Ephesus Tour guide (Ceyla) welcomed us at the port on time. The car was very clean and luxury. Our guide kept us always in front of the crowd and very informative. She is an archaeologist and we learned a lot. The lunch we had was amazing. The experience was great for us. If you really want a five star service they are perfect!

Total satisfaction

We were a group of seven and booked online at the About Ephesus Tour. They were very professional from the beginning and we just paid on the day of the tour, as required through a telephone call. We asked for a guide that could speak Portuguese and they promptly got us one. So, if you need a guide for your tour able to speak Portuguese or even Spanish, then Miss Melahat is the right person. She's a fantastic person, with a great historical/cultural knowledge about the sites and she was very nice to us too.The minivan that took us was also new, with air conditioning and the driving was safe. We strongly advise everyone not to hesitate in contacting this Ephesus agency.

Excellent tour company :)

We used this company while cruising on the Serenade of the Seas. When we got off the ship in Kusadasi Gonca our guide was already waiting for us. She was warm and welcoming and we were off to a great start. Our driver was Alp, a very quiet man, very nice and a very very good driver.Gonca took us first to the House of the Virgin Mary were we (catholics) had one of the most sublime experiences of our lives!! Gonca had said around 30 mins there but we took 1hour+ there and she understood and was fine with it. She never rushed us nor gave us an attitude about it, she was more than happy to please us and let us stay longer. Her english was perfect and she knew a lot of history. After that we went to the old city of Ephesus and also to the Terrace Houses. Then we had requested to go to Sirince a very very nice small village nearby where we had a great time and a very yummy lunch. They took us to the port with plenty of time to catch our cruise and they - I must say- were the best guides we had in all our ports of call. We left with a very good impression of turkish people and their culture and we can't wait to be back to this wonderful country to explore more.I definitely recommend this company and I will use them again when I go back, because i def. will.

Spectacular Experience -- We want to tour all of Turkey w/ Cem and About Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We can not speak highly enough about our About Ephesus Tour. We had many wonderful private tours throughout the Mediterranean and our tour of Ephesus, and our tour guide Cem, were far and away the best. Our family (which included two teen-aged boys) loved every minute of our tour. From the first minute I contacted About Ephesus, all of our dealings were positive. They responded quickly to every email inquiry and question, were very accomodating and I felt that our tour and our safety were insured. When the four of us were led by Cem to our private, air-conditioned luxury van, we knew we were in excellent hands. I had originally asked to start our tour at 8:30 and the tour company urged us to start at 7:30. Great advice. We were about 15 minutes ahead of the crowds all day. Cem spoke perfect English (besides majoring in history, he also majored in English literature in college) and was well-spoken, thoughtful, extremely knowledgeable about Turkey, world history (ancient and modern), modern politics and Ephesus. Ephesus is spectacular. The ruins are wonderfully preserved and it should not be missed. And you really should use About Ephesus and ask for Cem. He is as much a treasure as Ephesus.

The Guide Makes the Tour

We have had many private tours/guides all over the globe. Selcuk was in style, manner, knowledge and superlative English the best guide we have ever encountered. As for the company, communication was clear, immediate and thorough. And as for Ephesus, while it should not be missed, mandatory is a visit to the Terrace Houses, separate but on the same site.

A very good excursion to Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Our cruise stopped at Izmir. Wanting to make sure to have a French speaking guide, I contacted the agency "Ephesus Tours". The site of the agency is in English only but I read that this agency could organize excursions with guides speaking French. E-mail communications are only in English but we respond very promptly. I was offered on the one hand a tailor-made tour but that is quite expensive and on the other hand a standard excursion that is not much cheaper. I chose the standard tour or visit the entire Ephesus site. I made impasse on the house of Marie for lack of interest and because the stopover was not very long. This includes a stop at a leather clothing store and a carpet workshop where lunch is served. I imagine that it reduces the price of the tour. Fortunately we did not feel any pressure at the clothing store or the carpet workshop elsewhere. On the other hand we had planned to buy a Turkish carpet and we took advantage. On the scheduled day, Our Ephesus Tour Guide was waiting for us at the exit of the boat with a sign with my name. We traveled in a comfortable and well air-conditioned mini-van. Halil is a young man very friendly and well connected! He did not hesitate to browse the Internet with his mobile phone to find information and images to answer our questions. His French is very good. He also speaks Spanish and English in addition to Turkish of course. In addition to explanations on the beautiful Ephesus site, he gave us a lot of information about Turkey and the region. The journey takes about an hour between Izmir and Ephesus but Halil knows how to make the trip interesting.

Testimonials & Reviews

Our Guide brought Ephesus to life for us & was extremely informative; we even had people listening to him & complimenting him on being a much better guide than theirs from other companies. He guided us expertly to be at the front of the queues & out of the heat as quickly as possible.”
