A Wonderful day with a great guide.

We hired a driver and a guide Filiz Capraz for our group of six. We were met on time and had a very nice air-conditioned Van. We loved the door to door service for the various sites in Ephesus. We found the price to be very reasonable for the private tour. Filiz (Phillis) was a very knowledgable and a lovely young women that we all enjoyed and learned so much from her. The small part of Turkey that we saw on our day trip was beautiful. Although the riots were going on in Istanbul and a few demonstrations in Ismir, we felt safe and had a wonderful day. The lunch provided was very good! We were given a cute little bag filled with information as well as some souvenirs.

Took such good care of us, especially my elderly parents :)

I booked this private tour company for our cruise port day in Ephesus on June 2'nd. We were a multi generational family group of 4 and I was very worried that my parents (ages 86 and 84) would not be able to handle the rigors and regimented 52 pax cruise bus tours in Ephesus. Boy did I make a good call. This tour company was THE BEST. Our guide Gonca and our driver met us at the port terminal. We had a private air conditioned mini van all to ourselves; very clean, plenty of room, perfect temperature and comfort level for Mom and Dad. Gonca was so friendly and informative and went out of her way to tailor the day to best accommodate all of us, especially my parents. We saw everything we wanted to see, while allowing for Mom and Dad's gentler pace. She always had an eye out for our needs, whether it was an urgent bathroom stop, a need for water, finding a shady place for Mom to sit while we talked about the ruins in front of us, giving us some extra time at a gift shop or answering in detail my many questions about Turkey's history and culture. This is a level of customer service you simply can't receive with the sheer volume of being one out of 52 people on a cruise bus tour. But you can and we did, with this company. Gonca and our friendly driver turned this day into a wonderful family memory for us. Thank you so much! Best of all, the prices for our private tour for the 4 of us was less expensive than the 52 pax advertised cruise tour would have been - and a beautiful lunch was included. My only regret was not using this company for the Istanbul part of our trip - next time!

Can't be overstated!

I can't thank your company enough for the wonderful experience in Ephesus. We are retired, relatively new to cruising, and our first trip abroad. I had always taken the practical, safe side, and booked with the cruise line for our excursions. This tour was only our second independent tour, and you can be sure we'll do it again!! It was YOUR company, and especially our tour guide, that convinced us that this was definitely preferable. Our van was spotless, our driver was most courteous and pleasant, and our guide was beyond any expectations we had! She understood our limitations, and accommodated every need. I had foot surgery just 7 months earlier, and she patiently adjusted accordingly. I was so impressed by her easy acceptance to our needs, and I wish she had been available at every stop! Her knowledge of her country was amazing. No question went unanswered! We loved the traditional lunch - it was a huge step for us, as we aren't the most experimental people - but, we found it to be delicious! The carpet demonstration was very interesting, although we did not know about that in advance, nor the sales pitch. Fortunately, the sales presentation was not too pushy, and the delicious tea that was served during the talk was wonderful. I would highly recommend this company for their professionalism, courtesy and reasonable pricing.

Our family of 7 from Canada were picked up in an extremely comfortable van with wonderful driver and english speaking guide named Conga ( sorry lost your business card I know I spelled wrong) We cant express how impressed we were with this tour, This was the non religious focus and suited us perfectly.. First into the Terrace houses we had them all to ourselves, An educated and relaxed time was had by all, highlights were. "private fashion show ( we bought leather), yummy authentic lunch at the Turkmen carpet shop ( wish we could have come home with a carpet) and oils, wine, apple tea and soaps and linens purchased in the village."We learned from the very personal sharing of our guide of the Turkish culture and lifestyle of its people. Dont hesitate to book with this company it far exceeded our expectations thanks so much. cynthia and family from Canada.

Excellent Ephesus Tour

We booked a private tour of Ephesus online and are extremely pleased with the pre-tour communications with the company and the professional guiding services provided by our guide Julia (Hulya) on the day of the tour. Julia and the driver picked us up at the Kusadasi port and took us on a 5 hour tour of Ephesus. The tour was very well organized and informative. We are very pleased with the experience and highly recommend this tour company.NY

Tour of Ephesus & Pamukkale!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We went on 2 private tours with About Ephesus. The first, Tour of Ephesus and the next day, Tour of Pamukkale. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during both tours! Mrs Hulya was our guide for both days, and she and the driver for the day Mr Osman, picked us up at Izmir Airport (we landed at around 1030am flying in from Cappadocia). We had initially wanted to drop off our luggage at our hotel (Hotel Ilayda which About Ephesus had recommended to us), but Mrs Hulya was worried that we may not have sufficient time to complete our tour so we headed straight to lunch instead. Which was fine with us too as we were getting hungry!Lunch was served at a peaceful and pretty garden and there were random animals, such as a horse, goats, chickens, chillin' around. The food, which was chicken kebab and cheese pastry, was delicious too. We were then given a tour of the carpet making process and presentation on carpets. After lunch, we promptly began our tour of Ephesus, which took around 2+ hours. We visited the House of Virgin Mary, then Ephesus itself including the Terraces, and lastly Temple of Artemis. Mrs Hulya was highly knowledgabe, humorous, and has a good grasp of the English language. Through her explanation, we learnt alot about this ancient city, which was truly amazing. My favourite was the architecture of the Library! After the tour, we were sent back to our hotel. Tired but happy. Our second day's tour began much earlier at around 845am. Our driver for today was Mr Murat while our tour guide was the same, pretty Mrs Hulya. The journey to Pamukkale was a 3 hour bus ride including a half hour pitstop where we could shop and eat. When we finally reached Pamukkale it was around noon. We were given the choice of having lunch first or touring Pamukkale (which would take 2 hours). We choice lunch first! The pancake at this small little cafe was amazing and delicious!! We ate with the view of Pamukkale as our scenery. Very pretty. After lunch, we began our tour. We alighted the bus at the North Gate(?) and walked through Hierapolis (Holy City), passing by Cleopatra's Bath (which we didn't enter and the entrance fee was 32 TL). When we finally reached the terraces, we took off our shoes and walked around the hot spring area. What a wonderful feeling to be walking on 'cotton'! It was indeed a beautiful sight. Though the Pamukkale tour was short with more time spent on the journey than in Pamukkale itself, it was well worth the money and time as we saw the beautiful cotton castle :) On our journey back, we were each given a gift bag, hand packed by Mrs Hulya herself. There was a fan, a bracelet, maps, an Ephesus snow globe, and a magnet among other things! What a pleasant surprise! Overall, we would recommend About Ephesus to everyone going on private tours. They are professional and sincere (you can tell by the way they reply emails promptly!!), safe and comfortable, and provide well-thought itineraries and advice, even to the smallest details. We'll miss our tour guide Mrs Hulya much and we're sure anyone who has the chance to be in her tours will enjoy him/herself as much as we did! :)

magical place

It's amazing to be in a place that was basically the beginning of civilization. Each stone, each writing brings us back to the past, is a unique sensation.

Request Selcuk!

My wife and I planned a day trip to Ephesus and because of our timing and lack of transportation, a private tour was the way to go. We contacted Ephesus Tours online and they were great to work with. They were able to set something up around our flight times to make it work for us. We got to go see all the destinations we wanted to as everything was tailored to our needs. After looking at other places, this is the place to go, they had the best price and the guide was amazing. Everything ran smoothly; no complaints. If anyone is planing to go to Ephesus, you must request Selcuk Cetin. He was extremely knowledgeable and his passion for the history of the area made our trip. He had great stories to tell about what we were seeing and we were able to ask him lots of questions. After we had seen the major attractions he even took us around to other interesting places in the area. This was a wonderful day trip for my wife and we would highly recommend Selcuk for anyone else.

By far the best part of Ephesus. Ms. Arzu from About Ephesus Tours was our guide and she gave us a thorough and interesting look into real life in the ancient past.

Day tour of Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Ms. Arzu met the 4 of us at the Cruise terminal in Kusadasi and managed to take us to all of the sites in an order that kept us ahead of much of the crowds. She knew the history and sites well, was very nice and had many anecdotes and interesting facts to explain how the many discoveries had been made. Left you wishing you had become an archaeologist yourself! We were in a comfortable van and all fees and a traditional lunch were included. The rates were very reasonable and booking online was very efficient. We put down only a small deposit and paid the rest at the end of the tour. The website About Ephesus Tours replied promptly to all of my questions and tailored the trip to our needs. When the museum was closed for renovations, they informed us promptly and adjusted the price accordingly. Very highly recommend this company and especially Ms. Arzu as a guide.

Testimonials & Reviews

Our Guide brought Ephesus to life for us & was extremely informative; we even had people listening to him & complimenting him on being a much better guide than theirs from other companies. He guided us expertly to be at the front of the queues & out of the heat as quickly as possible.”
