Great Private Tour of Ephesus Turkey
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

The name of our tour company is Osman Tourism. The tour website is https://ephesusbreeze.com. The name of our tour guide is Gonza Kizilhan. We took a full day private tour of Ephesus that includes the following itinerary:- The Temple of Artemis /Diana- The Ruins of Ephesus including * The Celsus Library, * The Temple of Hadrian, * The Fountain of Trajan, * The Temple of Domitian, * The Monument of Memnius * The Marble Street, * The Great Theater * The Odeon.- Ephesus Archeological Museum - Visiting The House of Virgin Mary- Traditional Lunch- Rug Making Demonstration- Porcelain Making DemonstrationThe tour van was Mercedes that can seat 12 people. The ride was very comfortable. There were 4 people in our group. Gonca picked us up from the cruise terminal. We were in a Mediterranean cruise. We made arrangements for the tour ahead of time.Gonca was very knowledgeable and explained very well the significance of each site. She took her time in explaining and answered our many questions. She also asked our opinion on what we wanted to see and made changes to the itinerary. We were scheduled to see the Terrace House but opted to see the Archaeologica Museum instead. The lunch served was very good. The rug making demonstration did not have a high pressure sales.I highly recommend Gonca and Osman Tourism.

Fantastic tour of Ephesus

My daughter and I took a cruise which included a stop near Ephesus. I was looking for a private tour that would allow us to avoid the typical big bus tours but cover all the highlight of Ephesus, including the House of Mary. I read all the reviews on trip advisor and decided on this one with About Ephesus. Our guide, Gonca was fantastic. She was right there to meet us at the port as we arrive and was so nice and welcoming that she immediately put us at ease. She gave a wonderful overview of the country on our way to Ephesus. We were able to avoid the crowds at several of the more crowded stops - which allowed us to see more than a typical tour. If you are looking for a memorable tour with a wonderful guide, I would encourage you to try About Ephesus and ask for Gonca - she is super and you will not be disappointed.

ok but not great

the transport was very professional, the tour guide, we felt we did not get the best from her maybe it was us ? but other guides were giving in depth explanations of most of the sites e.g. the theatre / odeon our guide told us a brief explanation then told us she would meet us back at the vehicle, the carpet / local crafts visit turned out to be a fairly high pressured sales pitch that made us feel uncomfortable, the traditional lunch not really traditional turkish more really a typical tourist meal, so all in all ok but not great

Great value for money tour

After a lot of research I decided to book a tour with Osman Tourism (About Ephesus Tours) One tour was for my father and brother who visited Ephesus from Izmir. Their guide, Ebru, was good and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I requested Ebru for my own tour (which was an excursion off a cruise ship) but she was busy so my tour guide was Filiz Capraz instead.Filiz was very competent, knowledgeable and experienced. She gave us time to walk around by ourselves when we needed it and always knew the best spots to sit in the shade while giving us information about Ephesus. I had researched this company quite extensively and can highly recommend them to everyone. I must've sent about 30 emails to Istemihan Bey who was extremely patient with my endless queries.

A wonderful tour of Ephesus

We were 5 couples who booked a private tour of Ephesus via the internet. We fortunately booked with https://ephesusbreeze.com and had the most wonderful guide! (Also the communications via e-mail were also swift and clear with a Mr. Teleheri) Our assigned guide, Ms. Gonca (also called Rosie), is a young woman who is intelligent, most knowledgeable, vivacious, enthusiastic, and pleasant to spend the day with. She (and our wonderful driver Sky-High) escorted us for the entire day. They were most punctual for our pick-up at our cruise ship with a sign wo that we could easily find them. Rosie pointed out things on our way to the ruins at Ephesus, our first ( and longest) stop. She explained the historical and cultural information that helped us understand the ancient civilization that stood here. We thankfully had added on the Terrace Houses (at a slight additional fee) which should not be missed. As the day progressed we also toured the marketplace in Selcuk, the village of Sirince, the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, the Selcuk Archaeological Museum, a carpet weaving plant, and a pottery producing factory. A most interesting and worthwhile day at a reasonable cost!

An unforgettably wonderful day in Ephesus

We were 5 couples who cruised together and had booked a private tour through https://ephesusbreeze.com. I cannot say enough about the wonderful tour we had with Ms. Gonca as our guide and Sky-High, our driver. Ms. Gonca, or Rosie as she is often called by her tourists, is an intelligent, enthusiastic, and energetic young lady. She explained so much about everything we saw from the ruins of ancient Ephesus, the Terrace Houses (not to be missed), the archaeological Museum, the village of Sirince, the Cave of the 7 Sleepers, carpet weaving, pottery making, etc. It was a day that all 10 of us will always remember and treasure.

Our cruise ship docked at Kusadasi for the day and we booked a full day tour with Osman Turism through the website https://ephesusbreeze.com. Our guide Gonca Kizilman was so professional, knowledgeable and warm that she made the day a fantastic one for us. The price of the private tour for 3 persons was 50% less than the group tour (for 30 persons) charged by our cruise ship. private tour is the way to see Ephesus and other highlights in the area.

Seeing Ancient Ephesus with guide Gonca is absolutely magical!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We would never have guessed the highlight of our trip to Greece, Rome and Turkey with our 10-14 year old kids (who love mythology) would be our time in Ephesus. But, in fact, this was the most magical and amazing of a truly wonderful vacation, and the reason was our guide, Gonca Kizihan. We booked through About Ephesus Tours and also worked with Osman Tourism.Gonca also goes by "Rosie" if you have trouble pronouncing her name. She is amazing - her English is flawless, she is warm, charismatic, professional and she has an exceptional and seemingly endless fund of knowledge. She is clearly extremely intelligent. She blends that with a seamless and unbiased delivery of information. Although she must have provided the same information many times, one would never know it - she has that gift of lending a sense of wonder and excitement to the information she provides. In addition to the ancient city and Terrace Houses, we saw the House of the Virgin Mary, etc. The lunch we had was outstanding. She made us all feel so at ease. We were never rushed. She seemed to anticipate just how much time we might want to pause and wander alone, but was somehow right in sight when we were ready to move on.We are so grateful to Gonca for our most magical and educational tour of Ancient Ephesus and surroundings. If you can get her, you will be assured of the absolute best!

The magnificence of Ephesus is enhanced by a terrific guide

My extended family of 12 just left Ephesus where we were guided by https://ephesusbreeze.com Funnily enough I couldn't find them on the Tripadvisor site to write the review, though I know that's where I located them in the first place. I emailed Osman Tourism ahead to reserve the tour and had to pay a small deposit up front. the overall price was very reasonable- about US$40/person. There was a bit of confusion since I thought lunch was not included. I was informed that lunch was included, and a visit to a carpet factory was obligatory since the carpet factory subsidizes the cost of the tour. I was told this was explained on the aboutephesus website but I haven't checked.Be that as it may, the guide, Gonca Kizilhan was a big hit with my group. She's not only knowledgeable but is extremely pleasant and has a great sense of humor. We unanimously recommend her and the company.

Testimonials & Reviews

Wishing to avoid the high costs charged by a cruise line for a visit to the ancient sites of Ephesus and having read previous Trip Advisor reviews, we e-mailed Ephesus Tours to arrange a private tour. Met us exactly as promised on arrival and the guide that they provided us was excellent with fluent English.”
