One of our best ever private tours
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

This was an exceptional private tour of Ephesus and our guide Levant has to be one of the best around. He told us everything we wanted to know and more. He was so very patient and more or less allowed us to dictate the pace. Ephesus is quite magnificent and is steeped in history. Do include a trip to the Terrace Houses as they are well worth the visit. Our venue for lunch in the countryside was rather lovely and the food we were given was excellent. This was followed by a carpet demonstration at the same location and although we were not very keen to include this on our itinerary we changed our minds after seeing the work that goes into making these very fine rugs. I believe we might well have bought one had we been prepared in advance. We may therefore have to return! Thank you once again Levant for a wonderful day and also to Adam and everyone at Samyeli Travel.

Osman Tourism - Gonca
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We booked the tour online before we left for our cruise, Gonca met us as planned at 8.30am at the port gate in Kusadasi, and the 2 of us were taken by mini bus to Ephesus by the driver Alp. Gonca was very friendly and informative, she said we would be better visiting the terrace house inside Ephesus instead of Marys house and I am so glad we didn't miss this part of it as it was the best part. If you go make sure you do not miss it out. We were there before all the coach parties which meant we were able to see everything really well. The lunch we chose to go to a traditional restaurant with more choice and it was superb Turkish food. We didn't go to any of the carpet weaving etc and asked to be dropped off at the beach on the way back which was no problem to them. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Awesome Tour, Awesome tour guide!

We weren't sure what to expect since this was our first private tour off a cruise ship which we booked on our own after some research. We could not be more pleased. This was one of the highlights of our trip and it was clear from the start that we would be very happy. We were met by our tour guide Hulya Acar as we disembarked from the cruise ship and then met our driver to make our way to Ephesus. The drive was beautiful in the Mercedes van which was very comfortable. Hulya was very knowledgable and we were very comfortable with her immediately. We spent several hours touring the sites (including the house of the Virgin Mary and then Ephesus. The arranged lunch was delicious and we opted for the more traditional lunch. We also visited the carpet making but that was optional and there was no pressure to attend it which was appreciated. Overall this was a very worthwhile tour and more than worth the cost. In fact we were very impressed with what we did receive for the money paid. I highly recommend this tour company and our tour guide in particular.

Amazing!!!!

This was by far the best tour we did - the guide was so knowledgable and being a history geek I loved this amazing piece of history - being able to walk a long the streets and so much still in tact is impressive!

Ephesus Private Tour with Mehmet Gokbora
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

I would like to say how much my husband and I enjoyed our recent private tour of Ephesus with our professional tourist guide, Mehmet Gokbora. He was waiting to greet us, along with a driver and a brand new 6 seater mini bus which we had to ourselves, when we disembarked from our cruise ship. The tour of Ephesus was fascinating and Mehmet's knowledge first class. He always managed to miss the worst of the crowds which made the day all the more enjoyable. We shared a delightful traditional Turkish lunch with him, before visiting the Ephesus Ceramic Centre and purchasing a beautiful hand thrown and painted bowl, which was safely wrapped and survived the flights home. His little gift bag was an additional treat.

Very knowledgeable guide, terrific day trip

Booked a tour for just the two of us rather than join our cruise ship tour. Ali was our friendly, extremely knowledgeable guide who was also very flexible with the itinerary - we often got to venues before the large coach parties or, if necessary, we swapped the running order around to try to avoid the crowds. The City of Ephesus was amazing and Ali really brought it to life for us. We would have missed out on a lot if we had tried to do this tour alone. The air conditioned minivan was a joy in such searing heat and driver comes to meet you so you aren't walking back miles to where he dropped you off. Wear comfy shoes with decent tread because the marble steps can be slippy, wear a sunhat and sunscreen because there is very little shade and take water! The tour also includes lunch which was delicious. The price was probably a shade cheaper than the cruise ship tour price but it was fantastic to get such a personal service. It was a memorable day for all the right reasons.

Great Tour Operator

I booked a private day trip with Ephesus Tours after I read the high reviews on TripAdvisor, and I am glad to say I was not disappointed. Gonza was there to meet us at the airport, and was very flexible as we ended up changing the day's plan. Gonza was superb, and patient with our family of 9 :)

Private tour of Ephesus

Our recent Aegean cruise stopped at Kusadasi for one day on 3rd April and we booked in advance a half day tour of Ephesus with aboutephesus.com.After we waited for a few minutes in the wrong place, we were met at the cruise terminal exit door by Filiz Capraz who walked us to her driver and mini-bus. We then set off on their set tour which was very enjoyable. Feliz was very informative and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour included a gift bag and a lunch stop with some very tasty local food.

Ephesus and Gonza (sp?)

Thank you so much for sending Gonza to be our guide. She was wonderful and charming and funny. She was kind and considerate to my elderly parents and aunt and uncle. She took their mobility issues seriously and was considerate of their needs. Our driver (I forget his name) was awesome and nice as well. Please say thank you to him as well. We were impressed with the tour of Ephesus and the ruins. We thoroughly enjoyed the carpet factory and the pottery and leather demonstrations. We had a lot of fun. The food was great and we had a wonderful time. We got to meet Gonza's husband and were just really impressed with the overall charm and friendliness of the Ephesians. Thank you again.

Visiting Ephesus was one of the best memories of our Turkey visit

My wife and I booked a what-turned-out-to-be a very reasonably priced, privately guided tour thru About Ephesus Tours in mid-March.This was a day trip to Izmir/Selcuk/Ephesus from Istanbul . Our guide Ms. Hulya (Julia) and the driver, Mr. Ummid were wonderful throughout, including airport pick up/drop off, the guided tour and a wonderful lunch full of items of our choosing. Their warm hospitality won us over completely. The tour included the House of Virgin Mary, the ancient Greek/Roman city of Ephesus and Temple of Artemis. Ms. Hulya's knowledge and communication skills were impressive. Ephesus should definitely be on the bucket list of anyone interested in history, archeology and culture. And visiting it with the help of a seasoned guide is the best way to do it.

Testimonials & Reviews

I booked online with Ephesus Breeze as an alternative to the cruise ship sponsored excursions for a one day tour for myself and my two teenage sons. Booking was simple. We paid a small deposit via paypal, and then the balance in cash in US dollars at the end of the tour. The fee included all entrances.”
