Well preserved

This archaeological park is very well preserved. What I love most as a Christian is to be able to see places and to know how people lived from which we read the stories in the bible. The theater where the apostle Paul preached to the local people was the highlight of the visit for me.

My sisters and I visited ephesus and we did the aboutephesustour. Gonça was our guide and was wonderful. Was very knowledgeable and explained and answered all our questions. We are so please with this company and the outcome. We felt very safe here. The lunch was wonderful that was provided. Yes there are many tours out there but I'm telling you this was the best. You will not be disappointed, Thanks again Gonca. Dusty,ValErie and Debra

Fantastic Port Excursion
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We booked a shore excursion for 12 from the port of Kusadasi and were very happy. Emails to arrange the tour were handled promptly and clearly. We set up sites we wanted to see including Ephesus, House of the Virgin Mary, St. John's Basilica and it included lunch. The guide was excellent. She was rich with information, had a good sense of humor and was attentive to all the people in our party. She provided plenty of information without long winded explanations. It matched our group perfectly. The price was reasonable, the vehicle was in new condition and very comfortable. Overall a fantastic excursion at a fraction of the cost of the cruise line. My only complaint, is there was pressure to visit a carpet weaving place or a leather factory, despite my original correspondence to the company indicating we were not interested, as many of us had been to the area before and were familiar with the practices. But that did not over shadow a terrific day. A highlight for us was the terrace houses at Ephesus but it does require many steps so difficult for elderly or people who are not good on their feet.

Should be on everyone's top 10 places to see

Most amazing ruin I have ever visited, absolutely mind blowing, just so much to see. We were on a cultural tour of the Aegean coast with RSD travel and our tour guide Ali, was excellent. It took us around 2 hours to walk from one side of the site to the other. The pavement is not always even so visitors should wear sensible shoes. There is just such a tremendous feel of the sense of history when you are there. The ruins are truly amazing makes you realise how we did go back into the dark ages after the fall f the roman empire.

Seven Churches Tour

Our family took a tour of the cities of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Gonca was our tour guide and was excellent. She has a great command of the English language and of the history of the cities and the people who had lived there throughout history. She also gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and to share our views. I had recently had surgery and she made sure to keep the pace suitable for me. The company provided a modern and very comfortable van. Our driver, Ashurf, kept it spotless every day and was a very professional driver. We highly recommend this company. If we ever tour in this part of the world again we will use Ephesus Tours and ask for Gonca.

Blown Away

I love history and seeing Ephesus and all the Roman ruins was spectacular. The Roman library is amazing. The place is very large and very hot. I went in April and it was very hot. Also be sure to wear comfortable shoes for the amount of walking you will be doing. We hired a tour guide who was very knowledge and explained everything to us very clearly. I loved everything about this tour.

Hot Hot Hot...but Fantastic!

Port of call on a 10-day Mediterranean Celebrity Cruise on July 29th, 2014. At this time of year, bring plenty of water and umbrella to hide from sun if needed. Booked a full day tour for a family of 14 with 7 kids under age of 7. Had a private bus (Air Conditioned!!) to tour St Johns Basilica, Ancient City of Ephesus, lunch and carpet demonstration and House of Mary. Our guide, Arzu (in photo), was wonderfully knowledgeable on the history and provided great perspective for all.Thank you Arzu! When are you coming to Chicago?!

Private Family Tour of Ephesus

Our family of 10 had an incredible experience with Ephesus Tours. Our tour guide was waiting for us at our port in Izmir, where a driver whisked us away in our own mini-bus to take us to Ancient Ephesus. We also visited the Archaeological Museum of Ephesus (which had just reopened 9 days prior--the company investigated this for us and was able to get us in) and the Temple of Artemis. Our guide was very knowledgeable, a good orator, and wonderful with our children (ranging in age from 1 - 14 years). The operator of the tour communicated promptly with me via email to arrange the details for our tour, taking into account our preferences and limitations. The prices were extremely reasonable and well worth the services. We are so glad we arranged for this tour! It is one of our favorite memories from our cruise vacation!

Culture + culture in Izmir
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Archaeological site very well preserved with the history of antiquity. Ephesus is part of the Biblical history of the 7 churches of the apocalypse situated in the city of Izmir. It is a charming cultural world. Stunning is the Library of Celsus and the theater that housed 25,000 people. A must see in Izmir. It is good to wear sneakers or other very comfortable footwear because we walk a lot, since the park is very extensive. Do not forget to go with a guide because otherwise it is difficult for you to understand the story without a knowledge of each ruin.
