Amazing Place
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

This is the most amazing, largest amount of ruins I've ever seen. My husband and I visited in early September. The weather was perfect (not to hot, not to cold), and the crowds were not to big as most people were back at work. This site is a short drive from the main town so people do not live among the ruins, making them eaiser to enjoy and perserve. This tour is so worth the money and makes any other visit to see ruins pale in comparison. The library of Celcisus, the theater, the public toilets, homes, etc. a real must see! Make sure to visit the covered museum that shows the homes built into the side of the hills also while there.

Falling in love with Ephesus

Had the most informative tour ever with SeaSong.com tours. We had a private driver and guide, Ozan, whose knowledge of the past, present and future for this beautiful part of Turkey. The cost was extremely reasonable and the highlight, for me, was the meal served in a lovely private home with an extremely gracious hostess. We visited many Ephesus ancient sites, silk rug maker, museum, etc. all the time seeing it through the eyes of a terrific guide. Wish they were in other countries beside Turkey. Definitely want to go back! Soon!

Well Done Ali

I cannot find the words to describe our magnificant guide Ali and our driver, Ali was so good explaining all about Ephesus brought the whole tour to life for us then took us for a wonderful lunch in a beautiful garden setting with food so fresh and well served and then took the time to sit and answer any questions we had. Anyone going to Ephesus please use this service we had a private vehicle, private guide, lunch and an exceptional day, one which will be held in our memories forever, I might add at a most reasonable rate way less expensive that boarding a bus from the ship with 52 others. I have absolute faith in this Company and in particular AliPat & Maureen

Better than the ship's offering by far!

Short and sweet. Brand new spotless Mercedes van with a driver that made me relaxed (and that is not easy!), excellent guide (Ali) and excellent value for money. What more do you need to know?

Gonca rocks......best day of our trip
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Booked this tour for 7 hours to include all sights for 7 hours coming off cruise ship in early August (sorry, but wrote this twice, and it wouldn't load originally). Gonca was waiting for us at 730. Mercedes van was airconditioned, new, and comfortable for my family of five (3 adult kids). Ephesus is just amazing, and Gonca's knowledge and charm made our day. She is truly a professional as a guide, with a vast knowledge base, and we really felt taken care of......For example, I've heard the lunches at the Turkish rug coops can be iffy, but it was truly a great meal, which she shared with us. She is nearing certification as a Biblical scholar in all three major religions. Besides being knowledgeable, Gonca is a fun, related well to young adults as well as us oldsters. And she rides a motorcycle!!!. And after the tour, she directed my family to shopping, including helping my son pick out a tailored suit near where she works in Kusadasi. Ask for Gonca....she loves what she does, and does it extremely well. Gonca, best wishes with your future spouse, and make sure you don't serve "kedi" at your reception....

VERY GOOD TOUR

went from the cruise ship on a half day tour with Thomson to Ephesus, our tour guide was very good with his knowledge of the site. All the buildings were fantastic to see and lots of them still intact, you have to try and go back in time when walking down the high street. We went in august so very hot walking round no shade any where so for us a half day was enough to see it all.It is not as big as Pompeii so can see lots.

Let a resident of Ephesus show you Ephesus

In general, we are enthusiasts of private tours. Normally, they are more expensive than group tours, but in this case the cost was comparable. Our guide for a half-day tour of Ephesus was Ugur Yavuzturk. A native of modern Ephesus, his knowledge of the area and the history was top notch. He was responsive and adaptive to our particular interests, in addition to being a congenial guide. He is highly educated. We highly recommend Ephesus Tours and Ugur, in particular.

Don't try Ephesus without a guide from Ephesus Tours
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Unless you are a history buff on ancient Mideast sites with a thorough understanding of Ephesus, don't try to figure the place out without a guide. We used Ephesus Tours and our guide, Arzu Savat, was oustanding. He was very knowledgeable on all the many stops we made as well as being an amiable, entertaining individual. Be sure your tour includes the recently excavated Terrace Houses. The tour includes lunch which was quite good, it being held in a lovely outdoor setting. It also includers a tour of the adjacent carpet factory where you can see young girls weaving the beautiful designs. If you've had one too many tours of carpet showrooms in Turkey, you can wait outside but the sales pitch here, with the usual tea or raki, was very low-key, it being conducted by a polite, friendly young man.

About Ephesus Tours and Gonca = Perfect match!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

My Family of 4 just finished a 12 day cruise, with a stop in Kusadasi Turkey. After doing some research and reading some reviews, I decided to book with About Ephesus and I am extremely glad I did. I booked a full day tour and right form my first email I was satisfied. I had a response within in hours, and each time I emailed them I had a return reply the same day with advice, recommendations and information about the tour. The whole process was very easy! At first they gave me a per person price, but by the end of the finale booking they took and additional $10 off per person which I was happy with, an I must say, the cruise ship prices for pretty much the same tour is doubled the price, you would do much better booking directly with this fabulous company. I paid a $20 USD deposit to confirm and you can pay the guide at the end of the tour by credit card or cash. Our tour guide Gonca (rosebud) met us right at the port with a smile, she then led us to our van, a 12 or 14 seat air conditioned luxury mercedes that we had all to ourselves. Gonca was fantastic and a true asset to the company and showed she enjoys what she does and sharing the history of her country. Gonca truly made this tour one of the best my family has ever had, truly a memorable experience and the highlight of our whole vacation. What made this even better was that Gonca made sure we arrived at the sites before the tour buses arrived so we were not in large crowds and was able to enjoy the sites, such as The Terrace Houses, Virgin Mary's House and Ephesus to name a few. The authentic lunch provided was superb. At the end of the tour you get to visit and see how carpets are made and how the silk is pulled from the cocoon, of course they would like for you to make a purchase but were not pushy, we were in Istanbul two days earlier and made a purchase there and they respected that, so no pressure at all. If you are planning on visting this part of Turkey I would highly recommend this company and Gonca, you will be completly 100% satisfied and I can tell they really place an emphasis on customer satisfaction! Even when the tour was over my wife wanted to see a few shops and Gonca came along and stayed with us for an additional hour, just to assist with finding what my wife wanted, she went above and beyond.Thank you GONCA!! You are the best and my family really enjoyed being your first visitors from Bermuda!!!

Testimonials & Reviews

Eight of us on 12 night Mediterranean cruise arranged a tour through Ephesus Tours and were fortunate enough to be met at the cruise terminal by Gonca Kizilhan, a.k.a. Rosie, the most wonderful tour guide in all of Turkey! She was so knowledgeable, was able to answer any question asked of her and had the most pleasant personality.”
