About Ephesus Tours & our guide Gonca!
We had an absolute wonderful time in Ephesus! It was one of the highlights of our trip, mostly due in part because of Gonca. She was wonderful. I can't say enough great things about her. Our driver was great as well. They took us everywhere as promised and even had time for more. We learned more from Gonca than we could ever imagine and felt like we had made a life long friend as well. She receives an A+ from us, we could not have asked for a better guide. Please so not hesitate to book with Ephesus Tours and be sure to request Gonca as well!
About Ephesus tour
We had wonderful tour in ephesus with About Ephesus Tours. Our guide was Selda, very knowledgable and had wonderful personality. We had van for 4 of us and comfortable with the car and driver. Selda explained each detail in Ephesus as well as terrace house. She was full of energy since terrace house had hundreds of stair. We finished the tour by visiting the making of carpet. Selda also gave us nice souvenir. Overall the tour is very good.
Tour guide broughtbitbto life
Our tour guide brought Ephesus and the House of Mary to life. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and willing to explain life in Turkey. We enjoyed the lunch and the visit to the carpet factory. There was no pressure to purchase a carpet but we really did wanted to buy one if we could afford it.
We felt so lucky that we found this tour company. They did an AMAZING job! We had a wonderful tour guide - Ozge who went to school for 5 years to become a tour guide and we had a very nice driver. We traveled a lot on this trip and did a lot of private tours and this one was the best. The value was good and the people were incredible. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. They picked us up at the port, shared a lot of information with us about the places we went and allowed extra free time. We had an incredible time and I can't recommend this organization highly enough!!!
Our family of 4 including two adult children had a wonderful full day tour with Arzu Altun. She was extremely knowledgeable and personable and clearly loves her job. I recommend her without reservation.
We have used Levent Solmaz for our private tours since 2008 and each time he makes Ephesus come to life. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He also takes good care of the cats; the caretakers of Ephesus. : ) He planned a great tour day for our last visit to Kusadasi in Oct. 2012, that included a full tour of Ephesus with the terrace houses, Mary's house, St. John's basilica, lunch and a fun visit to an authentic rug factory. Our group of 25 really enjoyed the day thanks to Levent. He is the only guide we will ever use when visiting Turkey.
Memorable Ephesus tours
We got my Ephesus tours from About Ephesus Tours. They took us from Izmir Airport . Our guide was very professional, knowledgeable. 8 of us had great time . Our guide Filiz gave us history , culture, daily life and insights about this spectacular city. Later we visited house of Virgin Mary. We were impressed by the Terrace houses in the city. We enjoyed being in the theater, After visiting Ephesus , we drove to this small village, infamous for their traditional Turkish rug making. They demonstrated us how to make the rug. After this nice lunch, we visited one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World, Temple of Artemis. Our guide Filiz gave us some presents and some books about Turkey. We strongly recommend this tour company to anyone.
Really fascinating place
Our tour was an excursion arranged through Norwegian Cruise Line, and it was nicely done. The tour guide had been an exchange student to the US for a year and spoke flawless English. But the city must have been a marvel in it's heyday. Toilets with sewage drainage, hot and cold baths, a library that had three stories, paved streets (stones of course), a market called an "agora" where the Apostle Paul had a tent selling business while he lived there, and an ampitheater. We went there in November, which is the "off" season. I hate to think how crowded it must be in the summer! Our bus stopped just before entering the site so people could use the toilets, as there are no accommodations at the site. We learned some fascinating facts about the city and were able to take loads of photos. Great tour.
I planned at tour of Ephesus while on a cruise and I booked it through Ephesus Tour and not through the cruise ship. It was a much better deal and experience. The guide met us at the dock with a sign with my name on it. We had four adults and a nice air conditioned van all to ourselves. He had cold water bottles for us and he was full of information and facts. It was very hot and little shade so be prepared. After seeing the ruins he took us to a school where they teach girls how to make silk rugs. They showed us the process and served us lunch and wine. The food was great. Then he dropped us off in town so we could shop before getting back to the ship. It was a perfect day and a great way to get the most out of Ephesus since we were only there for one day.
A trip not to be missed!
On our last vist to Turkey we arranged our holiday so that we could visit the amazing Ephesus! This is a trip that is not to be missed. A Roman City which really comes to life when you listen to the guide, you can hear the bustling in the streets and the chatter in the baths! We visited Ephesus about 15 years ago and just had to make another trip to see what other excavations had been carried out and although it didn't look too different, lots of work has been going on behind the scenes.......and it is still going on. Do visit - we did twice and would still go back again.

Testimonios y Reseñas
“Wishing to avoid the high costs charged by a cruise line for a visit to the ancient sites of Ephesus and having read previous Trip Advisor reviews, we e-mailed Ephesus Tours to arrange a private tour. Met us exactly as promised on arrival and the guide that they provided us was excellent with fluent English.”
