About Ephesus day tour
Fantastic day tour of Ephesus and House of the Virgin Mary during our day stop into Izmir port as part of our NCL cruise on the Jade. Very easy to organise and prompt replies regarding itinerary and schedules from the admin team. We opted for a private tour for our party of 3, were met by our fabulous guide Ali and off we went. In addition to the places of interest, we also took in a ceramic store, rug makers and had a traditional lunch. Would definitely use this company again, very attentive, great customer service and excellent value for money. Thanks Ali!
Informative and enjoyable with a great guide
Tour Guide: Taylan Uğur Myself and a friend organised this tour a few weeks in advance as we were stopping in Kusadasi as part of a cruise. The tour was private and conducted in an air-conditioned mini-van with leather seats which was modern, clean and comfortable. Taylan quickly tracked us down at the exit of the port and we headed for Ephesus, we also stopped at a Turkish Bath which was extra (Not recommended as this is clearly a tourist trap and does not have anything to do with this quality operator). The tour also included a traditional lunch and visit to a carpet manufacturing co-operative, as you would expect these people are expert at convincing tourists to buy a Turkish carpet. On this front I advise you to at least do some basic research on type and price in your home market just in case you are weakened into a purchase :)Back to the tour itself, Taylan was a great ambassador for his country, his English was very good and he was a very friendly, good looking young guy. The quality of his knowledge and presentation throughout the walking guide of Ephesus and the terrace houses was first rate and I can not recommend him enough. if you are planning a trip to Ephesus then don't pass on the opportunity to organise a tour with either Taylan or Filiz whom did all the organising for us as she was already booked on the day on question. Thanks Taylan and thanks for your clear communication and organisation Gonca.
Awesome Ephesus Tour
My daughter and I booked a private day tour of Ephesus after consulting Tripadvisor. It was the highlight of our shore excursions while travelling on the cruise ship NCL Jade. Mr Teleri was the most helpful, courteous and efficient agent I had the pleasure of dealing with. Our private car was very luxurious and our guide Zelda was waiting for us, as promised with our driver (Ghurkan?). Zelda was very knowledgeable and passionate about Turkish culture and history, and a delightful person. Nothing was too much trouble for her or our driver. We visited the Ephesus ruins, the House of the Virgin Mary, and the Terrace Houses. A traditional lunch was included and of course, a visit to the rug factory. All this for cheaper than it would have been for a bus organised by the cruise ship. It was unbelievably good value, given the distance, service and a whole day sightseeing. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Connie C
Awesome tour company and tour guide
We booked a privateday trip tour to Ephesus for my wife and 10 month old after reviewing Tripadvisor reviews, and it was one of the best trips we made during our time in Turkey. Mr. Istemihan Teleri, the agent, was very prompt in answering any questions we had regarding the tour. He advised us the best days to go and booked our flights from Istanbul to Izmir. A few days before our trip Mr. Teleri sent an email said that our flight back to Istanbul was canceled and he quickly provided our options. He made the booking process very easy and assured us we were in best hands. When we landed in Izmir we were greeted by Arzu, a young gal who studied tourism while in college. Arzu was very knowledgeable about the history and cutluture of the region, pointing out various points as we drove down to Ephesus. At Ephesus, she was kind enough to hold are 10 month old for most of the time, as we walked through the historic sights.Lunch provided by the tour was awesome, kabobs and a variety of salads. She advised us drinks were part of the meal. Just one note with regards to the drinks: Drinks are expensive, and they don't tell you the price nor do they tell you that you need to pay in dollars or euros. We ended up paying $10 for 1 local beer and a can of Sprite, which was quite expensive considering a beer cost 5 TL and sprite cost 2TL.Other than that, the tour was great, they do take you to a leather and carpet place where they try to sell you some goods, but they are friendly and don't pressure you to buy anything.I highly recommend using About Ephesus tours, and will definitively used them again on our next trip to Turkey.
Trip of a lifetime
Really good tour very informative tour guide.amazing to visit well worth the long coach trip. Very good value for money. Not good for families with children due to the long coach journey there and back. Would do it all again
Excellent tour
We decided to try a private tour of Ephesus instead of that offered by the cruise ship. We were not disappointed. The price was less than the ship's tour. We had a private, air conditioned car with private guide. No crowded, noisy bus! Our guide was very knowledgeable about Ephesus and stayed with the two of us for the whole tour, and lunch was included. It was the highlight of our cruise.
Ephesus tour - 12 June 2013
A tour operator that I highly recommend - We met our guide Ozlem at the port as agreed and we immediately left for Ephesus - The tour was private and Ozlem explained everything to us, even the engravings on the stones that an unexperienced eye could escape. The professionalism of Ozlem was memorable. After the Tour of Ephesus we visited the house of the Virgin Mary and, after lunch, we returned to the ship. The site of Ephesus and the house of the Virgin Mary are highly suggested - they are very well kept. We have seen everything that was in program. I thank the talented Ozlem and the driver for their experience and professionalism.
Osman Tourism & Filiz Dasdemir - best tour & tourguide
I did my research on touring Ephesus via tripadvisor and I couldn't be more pleased! We booked a full day tour with Osman Tourism and were treated to the most delightful tour guide possible. Filiz Dasdemir is a wonderful, energetic, enthusiastic and well-educated tour guide. Her command of the English language, coupled with her intimate knowledge of each of the spots we visited insured that we had a fun-filled and informative day. If you get the chance to visit Ephesus, the ruins are magnificent and easily some of the most memorable we've ever visited. Filiz made the history "come alive" and really provided insight I doubt we would have otherwise gained. She and Osman Tourism put together a memorable day that also included a stop at the Virgin Mary's house/church, several other spots and a visit to a traditional pottery factory as well as a most educational demonstration of rug-making (from silkworms eating mulberry leaves, to harvesting the silk from the cocoons to dying the silk through to weaving and the finished product). Throw in a traditional Turkish lunch and this day was both educational and fulfilling.
BEST TOUR GUIDE!
To see Ephesus in Kusadasi Turkey, you MUST arrange the tour with Osman Tourism and specifically request Selda Akygit Tutkun. She is a delightful lady with excellent English conversational skills, and answered each of our questions (and we had a few with our 14 year old and 11 year old daughters along with us) so thoroughly and pleasantly. She has a friendly personality and her passion for what she does is obvious. We hope to go back to Ephesus one day, as Kusadasi is a favorite of ours now!
Wonderful tour
This was one of the highlighted tours of our trip thanks to our guide, Gonca, whom we loved. She spoke such good English and we adored her. She learned a new phrase from me when my husband returned late to our bus once and I rubbed my finger saying " tsk tsk shame on you" she loved this and repeated several times to our driver with squeals of laughter. We highly enjoyed her being our guide and highly recommend using this company to anyone interested. She was even early to our ship to avoid crowds and heat which we so appreciated. She took us to a great rug factory where we enjoyed a special lunch that she enjoyed along with us. Two thumbs up!!!!!

Testimonials & Reviews
“I booked online with Ephesus Breeze as an alternative to the cruise ship sponsored excursions for a one day tour for myself and my two teenage sons. Booking was simple. We paid a small deposit via paypal, and then the balance in cash in US dollars at the end of the tour. The fee included all entrances.”
