Ephesus - not to be missed

They have the terrace houses under cover and beautifully presented. We had a private tour with Ephesus Tours and our guide, Asin was fantastic. With the right guide and good walking shoes you can spend hours here marvelling at the sophistication that this city presented.

Ephesus was magnificient, astonishing, spectacular! I would like to vist this amazing place again, the library was impressive, the entire site was like being in a dream! It was unbelievable to walk such ancient grounds dating back to 6 BC!

Two thumbs up! The best private tour ever!

We had Selcuk us our tour guide, Selcuk as our driver, and we went to the town called Selcuk..no kiddin! We had the half day Ephesus tour and had the best time. Our transportation was a Mercedes Benz small van and the driver was very professional & cautious. Our tour guide was excellent and speaks good English. He never rushed us, never boring, and gave suggestions were we could take great pictures. He spent more time with us, a loooot more than what our tour indicated and customized our tour based on what we like. He also took us to this little restaurant with good food and offerred us nice tea. This tour was the best coz it was laid back (no hurries, scared that your bus is gonna leave you or you're gonna get lost), enjoyable, informative, and for the price, you cannot go wrong. Just one advice.. Don't buy anything from the places the tour guide takes you. Shop at the main bazaar close to Kusadasi port coz its cheaper there and you can bargain more.

I just want to tell you how happy I and my group were with About Ephesus Tours. We had the safest and greatest time in Turkey which we will remember in our heart about Turkey. This would not happen without the dedicated sincere and hard work from our guide tour Ali and a driver. Please send them our thank you and appreciation to make this trip perfect.

Great half day tour with Selda

We visited Kusadasi on the Celebrity Reflection and decided to do a private tour instead of the one the ship offered. We could not have been happier. We did the half day best of Ephesus with our guide Selda who made our trip memorable. She was what a tour guide should be, very well informed and extremely personable. Ephesus is a MUST see for everyone and this is the best way to do it.

Best Ephesus Private Tours

We booked our 1/2 day tour of Ephesus, assisted by Ayse of Best Ephesus Private Tours. We were not disappointed! We were met at our Cruise Ship at the appointed time and had a terrific tour of Ephesus. Though the site was very crowded, our guide, Ceyda, was able to guide us through the sites, avoiding the crowds. She was informative, interesting and extremely knowledgable! We had the opportunity after the tour to stop at a spice shop on our drive to the Temple of Artemis, on our way back to our ship. (We also stopped at a ceramic shop, where items were being hand painted -- we felt it was a bit of a tourist trap, though the items were beautiful . . . ) We were two couples and we were all pleased that we choice a private tour rather than the cruise-ship sponsored excursion. Half-day was sufficient time for our tour and enabled us to return to our ship for lunch and then explore our port town, Kusadasi on our own.

Visited Ephesus on shore excursion from a cruise. It was fabulous. We hired a private guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I was sick from a previous port, and our guide was very patient and thoughtful. If I return to Turkey, I would not hesitate to use her service again.

About Ephesus

Nov 3: I booked a group of 21 friends from Maryland on an all day tour of Ephesus, the Terrace Houses (a must!), House of the Virgin Mary, Temple of Atemis, Basilica of St. Johns, lunch and shopping at a carpet store, and shopping at a leather coat store. Goncha was our guide. She was marvelous in all ways. Outstanding English skills and a great sense of humor. Most knowledgeable about all the sites. Our entire group rated her the best tour guide we have had on this Barcelona vacation followed by 12 day Mediterranean cruise.

Ruins of Ephesus

The tour of Ephesus was a lot of fun. The guide (and she was very good) told us of how close the sea use to be to where the city was and we were able to view "Roman toilets" if one can image that. The pillars of Hercules was a great photo op as was the 'Library of Ephesus" and I had my picture taken in both places. It is amazing to look out over the land where so many of our historical and Biblical leaders lived and visited. You do not have to be a "history buff" to enjoy the tour. It was hot and dusty but I did not even notice that until we were leaving... so glad I made this trip.

Testimonials & Reviews

Eight of us on 12 night Mediterranean cruise arranged a tour through Ephesus Tours and were fortunate enough to be met at the cruise terminal by Gonca Kizilhan, a.k.a. Rosie, the most wonderful tour guide in all of Turkey! She was so knowledgeable, was able to answer any question asked of her and had the most pleasant personality.”
