Levent Solmaz private tour (with Muge Yesildag)
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

This tour experience far surpassed any of the excursions we booked during our cruise to the Mediterranean. Miss Yesildag was extremely knowledgeable about all of the sights we had asked to see, most especially Ephesus. Her English was perfect and her leadership placed us at all the sights before the mass of bus tours from the cruise ships were able to overpower the sight. There were three of us on the tour permitting personal attention to the specific information of interest to each of us. The cost was very competitive. We were able to eat at a restaurant normally frequented by everyday Turkish people rather than the usual tourist fare of the excursions. Our Kusadasi/Ephesus tour was one of the highlights of our two weeks. Thank you Müge!!

private tour is the way to go

From the start, this tour company was quick in responding to any inquiries we had prior to booking. I booked with this company on the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed. Our tour guide, Gurkan was waiting for us when our ship docked at Kusudasi. We rode in a Mercedes minivan for a 30 minute drive to Ephesus. He was very knowledgeable and gave us the history of the city and the pointed out the ruins. We spent a good amount of time at ancient ephesus and house of terraces and I can tell you, a private tour is the way to go. There were many group tours that would crowd around their guide to get a glimpse of what he/she was pointing out. With a private tour, you are able to set the pace with your guide and skip what you aren't that interested in. We also visited the House of the St Mary, Temple of Artemis, a family run pottery making store (optional) but the pieces are gorgeous, and a turkish carpet making place (where you are served a nice lunch in the garden). It was a full day that did not disappoint and well worth the expense.

Private Ephesus Tours gave us wonderful tours

Private Ephesus Tours divided our 24 cruise passengers into two groups...each group of 12 with an informative guide. Each group rode in a modern, comfortable bus. Our trip to the Virgin Mary's home was interesting, but the tour of Ephesus was fascinating and very memorable. Fortunately our tour contact suggested we also visit the Terrace Homes, another great experience. Our guides were personable and gave us great insight into that period of time. We had a lunch of Turkish favorite dishes in a beautiful outdoor setting. The tour was very reasonably priced compared to those offered by our cruise ship. We really appreciated the personal touch only afforded by a small group tour. I would strongly suggest that anyone traveling to Kusadasi and Ephesus contact Private Ephesus Tours. You won't be disappointed.

Our day with Goncha was amazing!!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

My husband and I did a private tour of Ephesus with Goncha. She was such a sweet, caring, and intelligent girl and we learned so much from her! Our day was very enjoyable. We were picked up from our hotel in Izmir in a very nice van by Goncha and our driver, Sky High (his nickname), and transported all the way to Ephesus. Each place we saw had so much history and each place was absolutely beautiful. We loved every minute of our day on our tour and Goncha made us feel so comfortable. She taught us so many new things and always gave us our alone time so that we could enjoy it by ourselves also. Lunch was at a beautiful restaurant and was delicious! Then on the way home, we asked to be dropped off at the outlets, and they were more than willing to do so! We would definitely recommend the tour with Goncha! Thanks so much for the great day, and we hope to see you again:)

I have seen many ancient sites but that was the highlight so far

As part of a round trip in the area Izmir this was the last visit and that was a good thing. At the beginning, I thought it was another ruin that eventually resembled each other. When the view of the library opened, this idea disappeared very quickly and gives place to an incredulous wonderment. You have to have seen that and you should bring enough time to capture everything that you can see in this app. Also, the Hangvillen that cost extra entry are absolutely worth seeing. If you still have the luck to have a guide that gives the history also insight into the culture, it is a perfectly perfect day that will remain in your memory for a long time.

Fantastic Tour of Ephesus

Ephesus - the city established in 10 BC is a must visit for anyone having an interest in history. What is amazing is the way one can almost walk through the streets of the city and imagine how the city was organised in those time by seeing the ruins on both sides. The site is surprisingly easy to access from Selcuk (5 km) or Kusadasi (15 km)Be sure to take ample sun protection and water on the tour since one cannot get anything in the middle of the ruins,

Beautiful Ephesus!

This was an attraction I almost passed on, but my flight attendant recommended it. I am so glad I went! The tour of the ruins was quite spectacular and extensive, with a re-enactment of the gladiators at the end of the tour. The ruins were up-close, not roped off, and you could actually touch them!!! I was especially enamored with the library ruins.

A glimpse into history @ Ephesus

Visited as part of our Adriatic & Aegean cruise. Docked in Kusadasi and hired a cab to take us to Ephesus. This provided a short driving tour of the area around the Ephesus site. The stroll through the site is impressive and can be done on a self guied basis. Buy one of the books that descibes the site as a helpful resource. Guide tours are available in multiple languages. The site accepts only Turkish Lira or credit card payments. There is a museum in the adjacent community where many of the original artifacts are housed. The site can become crowded during the peak tourist season and is open air so if it is hot, you'll be out in the sun the whole time.

The highlight of our tour in Turkey

These are the most spectacular ruins that we saw when visiting Turkey. If you visit the country and have limited time, these are the ruins that you should visit. There is a lot to see at these ruins and you should allow several hours. We thought that the entrance was awesome, however there were much better sights as we walked through the place.

Amazing glimpse into the past

Testimonials & Reviews

Eight of us on 12 night Mediterranean cruise arranged a tour through Ephesus Tours and were fortunate enough to be met at the cruise terminal by Gonca Kizilhan, a.k.a. Rosie, the most wonderful tour guide in all of Turkey! She was so knowledgeable, was able to answer any question asked of her and had the most pleasant personality.”
