Excellent half day tour of Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We arrived by cruise ship and made a last min booking the day before via the Internet. The booking process was efficient and confirmed quickly and easily We booked a private half day your Our guide Gonja and driver were fantastic with excellent knowledge of Ephesus as well as a smiling and helpful personality.Highly recommend you include the terraces at Ephesus this is and additional ticket when you arrive at the site. We were not interested in "Mary's house " and Gonja suggested we swapped this in at no extra cost. Don't miss it it's as good as the main site with detailed frescos and mosaics in unearthed houses and has the bonus of being under cover .We cant thank Gonja enough for a great visit and her flexible approach. The car was a modern well air conditioned Mercedes mini van Highly recommend this company

excellent guide but other issues...

We paid a lot of money for this tour and the guide, Julia, was very good. Ephesus itself is magnificent but the tour failed to include the amazing terraced houses (which I saw on a friend's photos); but worst of all we were taken to a carpet weaving demo and were subjected to the real hard sell on rugs and jewelry which took the edge of the day.Shame because it could so easily have been 5 stars

Private tour with Bugra excellent!

We booked a day tour for our family with kids aged 6,9 and 11. We don't do a lot of tours as a rule as our kids get bored. This your was the highlight of our shore excursions. Bugra was patient and tailored information to keep our kids interested. We learnt so much about Turkish culture. Lunch was delicious. After reading reviews we are expecting being taken to carpet and pottery demonstrations. This was actually s highlight for our kids and we had no pressure to but (and didn't). Full marks to Bugra for calling about 10 people to find soccer shirts our boys were after. I wasn't sure if the tour was going to be worth it, it was and was a fantastic way to see the area with kids

Ephesus

We had a competent tour in Ephesus at the beginning of August. We wanted to escape the mass tourism of the crusaders. It was full in Ephesus, that did not change. But we had a very informative tour with a competent, excellent German speaking guide. He was very flexible and responded to our requests. Highly Recommended!!

Ephesus Private Tour w/ Goncha

We live in Franklin Tennessee, have never been to Turkey and didn't know what to expect so we spent some time researching potential private tour guides for our Ephesus Trip. This day was perfection and one of the highlights of our 2 week Mediterranean Adventure. We had private tours and really great guides throughout our trip but I believe Goncha was the absolute best. She is knowledgeable, personable, kind and just fun to be around. We had my whole family ( including my 80 year old Mom ) and she handled it all like a champ. Couldn't have been more thankful for our day in Ephesus and Goncha made sure it was perfect.

An experience we will never forget!

Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful full-day tour with Julia as our outstanding guide. Leading up to our tour date, the communication was immediate and thorough. We were promptly collected at the airport in Izmir and taken about to all the sights of Ephesus and returned that evening to the airport. Julia was so knowledgable and answered all our questions. Julia and the tour exceeded our expectations. Despite the young ages of our children (7 and 9), Julia kept them engaged and even prepared the nicest gift bags for them. The whole day was something we will never forget. It's definitely worth the expense and we are thankful we were directed to About Ephesus Tours.

Between East and West

We woke up looking at Izmir-Izmir from the sea. A show with the first lights of the sun to illuminate this beautiful city, the second of Turkey with its 20 km of Bazar. The city deserves to be visited calmly. The Ataturk Caddesi promenade, the Konak district from which you can access the Bazaar where you can find everything. Separate visit to the Kizlaragasi Han, covered market of the eighteenth century. We rented a car and we explored the surroundings, the wonderful coastline and the plain full of citrus groves that extends up to Ephesus a must for anyone. Walking in this city with its largely intact monuments transports us into the Greek age and you do not end up astonished in front of so much beauty. Streets in which Antonio, Cleopatra, Adriano, San Paolo, San Giovanni have walked, "The road crosses the agora with its shops, pharmacy .. then the baths and after the theater, wonderful construction in Greek scheme with 25 thousand seats. Go sit up to evaluate the acoustics. A fantastic Turkish coffee whose taste remains in the mouth for hours and about 100 km, a good part along the coast, to return to Izmir. Going towards the port we cross a beautiful mosque entirely covered with blue Islamic tiles, the sky is orange. Places that remain in the heart.

Before meeting our most gracious host and guide Julia (Hulya) our arrangements via email were handled very efficiently and promptly for our party of 4.With three generations represented we appreciated her sensitivity to my elderly mother's comfort and mobility.By the end of a richly historically engaging full day tour we were all charmed by Julia's sweetness, attentiveness, enthusiasm and knowledge of this beautiful area.An unforgettable highlight of our 3 week cruise especially the authentic dining experience that Julia ordered and shared with us.The driver and vehicle provided excellent comfort and safety and the complimentary bottled water was very thoughtful too.We would highly recommend this Ephesus tour company and guide.

Awesome Tour of Ephesus & Sirince
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We organized a tour of Ephesus and Sirince with About Ephesus in 2013. Selcuk started off as our guide but became a friends with our 3 yr old! The rest of the tour we didn't have to worry about our son he was with Selcuk the whole time! Selcuk was professional and knowledgeable. We had an excellent time walking about the ruins of Ephesus. We added a tour of Sirince to our itinerary and we are glad we did. It is a beautiful city and we had a fantastic time there. We had a traditional lunch and got enough time to walk about the cobblestone streets. Thanks Selcuk for a memorable tour.

Great day touring Ephesus and more!

Our guide, Hakan, was great. He met us at the port, and his English was impeccable. Our tour of Ephesus was great, but we also spent some time at a local market and at a rug making coop. I wish I could have afforded one of the beautiful rugs, but we enjoyed the experience even though we couldn't buy one. My 12 and 13 year old children also enjoyed that part of the tour. We also enjoyed an authentic Turkish meal. It was a great day!

Testimonials & Reviews

I booked online with Ephesus Breeze as an alternative to the cruise ship sponsored excursions for a one day tour for myself and my two teenage sons. Booking was simple. We paid a small deposit via paypal, and then the balance in cash in US dollars at the end of the tour. The fee included all entrances.”
