Know on this trip it will be very hot and a rough walk. The sites are well worth it! Bring water! Take a guided tour you will miss the little things that mean a lot in history

Saw all the sites and more- tailored our trip to avoid the large crowds

We had a wonderful guide, Gonca, who was very experienced and knew which sites to take us to. Overall a great experience

Absolutely wonderful

We were met at the airport by our guide, Mr Cem, and were then driven in a comfortable 6seater car to Ephesus. Nothing had prepared us for the incredible experience of seeing Ephesus and the unbelievable excavation work that has, to date, only uncovered about 15% of what is there. Mr Cem was fantastic at explaining everything we saw and giving us all the historical background we could ever want. He was fabulous - a real historian who clearly loves his field. We cannot recommend him highly enough. We then had a lovely lunch in the country followed by a demonstration of carpet weaving which was most interesting also. All in all a remarkable day that we will all remember forever.

Stunning plaae with excellent guide Julia

Julia met us at the dock and we were quickly on our way for our 4 hour tour of the sights of Ephesus. First stop was the House of the Virgin Mary, a small shrine built on top of what is believed to be the final home of Mary. It was a simple structure, but rather beautiful. Then onto the Ancient city. It is enormous, we waked for about 2 hours through the ruins with Julia doing a wonderful job in pointing it important and significant areas. From there to a delightful traditional lunch in a lovely garden, in a village area still using old methods of rug and carpet making. A delightful day with a terrific guide. Thank you Julia for making the tour so enjoyable.

a must do

great tour, you must do to get full understanding and background of ephesus. this is one of the best ruins i’ve seen, well intact and so much to see! its a full day tour, great tour guide very knowledgable and roomy air conditioned bus with water. if going during the summer definitely bring hat/sunglasses/umbrella/sunblock/good walking shoes it is very hot here.Do keep in mind the place they take you for lunch is also a place they like to get you to buy turkish rugs, so just be prepared to be hearing a sales pitch and seeing alot of rugs at the end.

Very interesting historic site to visit

We were on a MSC Cruise and were with our whole family with little children. Picked up at the pier by our tour guide Hulya Acar and her driver from the company About Ephesus Tours. They both were excellent and showed us all the main sights in Ephesus which is a very historic town. The highlight was the shopping particularly for leather jackets where Hulya took us to a large shop called Boggio Rossini which has a cat-walk to showcase their products. An excellent place to buy clothes.

Worth seeing but so hot

This trip was really nice to do . A lovely place to see but it was so hot it was difficult to stay standing listening to the guide going on and on .i think they could do a slide show about the place first and then point out the things quicker and keep to the important points it was draining and ended up and at lunch and carpet sale which was a pain.

Amazing tour with Filiz!

We booked a private tour for our party of 3. Filiz was our guide and she was fantastic - definitely the best tour we could have had. She was friendly and good fun, and incredibly knowledgeable - we learnt so much during our day with her, and she had answers to all the many questions we kept asking! A really fabulous experience.Ephesus is an amazing place to visit - a definite must see, and I would highly recommend this tour company - make sure you ask for Filiz and you will have a day to remember :-)

Great tour!

Our guide was Gonca and we really enjoyed our tour with her. I picked a private tour as we needed transportation anyways and it helped being explained to regarding what we were seeing. She was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Ours was the half day tour which included the terrace houses. The terrace houses were absolutely amazing, a must see, so well preserved. The temple of Artemis was disappointing, it was one column in a dirt field, you can skip it. She did tell us that the tour included the Turkish carpet stop. At first I was adamant I didn't want to go and she did say it was our choice and we could skip it. Unfortunately the included lunch was at the carpet stop. The food at lunch was really good, well prepared and tasty. It was worth the stop. The carpet demo was then next, again I was offered to skip it. I reluctantly decided to sit through it and ended up finding it quite fascinating. Our kids actually really enjoyed seeing how the carpets were made. At the end it wasn't a hard sell and we walked away without buying anything. All in all it was a good tour and I would recommend it. About Ephesus is still cheaper than the tour on the Cruise.

Testimonials & Reviews

I booked online with Ephesus Breeze as an alternative to the cruise ship sponsored excursions for a one day tour for myself and my two teenage sons. Booking was simple. We paid a small deposit via paypal, and then the balance in cash in US dollars at the end of the tour. The fee included all entrances.”
