Outstanding!

Hulya gave us a fascinating four-hour tour of Ephesus. It included the ancient city, lunch at a charming outdoor restaurant and a demonstration of silk and carpet making. The carpet sales folks put on a great show, and everyone should experience it at least once, even if you don't buy. Be sure to include the terrace houses in your tour. They cost extra, but provide an interesting look at how the rich - and probably famous - lived thousands of years ago. Lots of companies provide Ephesus tours, but we thought Ephesus Tours gave us an outstanding value.

Full day private tour of Ephesus

We took a one day private tour of Ephesus with Gonca at Osman Tourism Plc. She and her driver picked us up at the airport in Izmir in a super clean and comfortable van and we visited the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis, and the ancient city of Ephesus including the terrace houses. Everything went like clockwork. Gonca is very knowledgeble and she made the visit highly interesting and entertaining. She went above and beyond, as my husband left his phone in the van, she took pictures for us and emailed them to me once we were back home. We also had a lovely lunch outside under the trees and a visit to a rug factory where we learned about carpet weaving but felt no sales pressure at all. I would recommend Gonca and Osman Tourism

Everything was perfect. Osman Tours were wonderful communicators prior to our trip. All arrangements outlined in our reservation were met. Arzu Altun was our guide. She was a wealth of knowledge. (Tour guides in Turkey are highly educated and are basically historians.) Eight were in our group. Arzu led us down the streets of ancient Ephesus and made it come alive with the historical word pictures she gave us throughout the day. After seeing these amazing sights, we had a lunch stop which was included in the tour. The owners of the inn have a farm and treated us to a wonderful Turkish barbeque. Fresh vegetables they raised were grilled and served with wonderful kabobs. ( wish I had the recipe for the meatball kabobs.). We then saw women making Turkish rugs and they showed us the process from spinning of the yarn, dyeing of the fabrics, to the actually weaving on the looms. I loved seeing this ancient art in action. We were given a soft sell for the rugs, before leaving. I didn't mind that. In fact, if I were in need of a new carpet I would have bought one as the prices were extremely reasonable. Again, we depend on each other to give as honest a review as possible. I highly recommend About Tours in Turkey. I hope to return one day and see more of this incredible country and hope Azru will be able to guide us again..

Taken This Tour Twice With Gonca! Best Tour In the Mediterranean!
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

In June, we were on a Mediterranean Cruise that stopped in Ephesus. We knew that we just had to set up our second tour with this fantastic company!! Two years ago, we booked the same tour and had Gonca Dasdemir as our tour guide and we fell in love with her! We contacted the company this second time around, and Gonca also, and told them they had to let us have another fabulous tour with her! We had the same driver, Skyhigh. They make a great duo! Gonca knew that previously we had visited the House of Virgin Mary, Ephesus Ancient City, Terrace Houses, etc. and this time she helped us to customize a whole new itinerary to meet our needs! She is so professional and knowledgeable. We keep in contact year round and my three teenager sons instantly fell in love with her. She is the sweetest girl and really knows her history of the beautiful city! I highly recommend this to anyone touring Ephesus. The price is super reasonable, the Mercedes Van that Skyhigh drives us in is superb and Gonca is our favorite tour guide we have ever had in any city! You will not be sorry you went on this tour and I would highly recommend asking for her as your tour guide if possible! Enjoy!

Ephesus and Kusadasi with Osman Turism and Guide Arzu - Fantastic!

I found this tour company at About Ephesus Tours and decided to book a tour with them instead of the shore excursion offered by our cruise line in Kusadasi. It was the best decision I could have made for our family of four: my husband, myself and our two daughters. In planning this excursion, I communicated via email with Osman's representatives. I was able to customize our tour to see ALL the sights we wanted -- House of the Virgin Mary, Ephesus, Basilica of St. John and the Temple to Artemis. We also had fabulous, authentic, fresh, fire-grilled lunch with a local rug craftsman on their beautiful grounds under an arbor of grape vines. The food was great and the local wine they served was delicious. After lunch we went to an authentic Turkish Bathhouse. What an experience! We made it back to our ship with plenty of time for us to explore the nearby Turkish Bazaar. And all of this cost us LESS than we would have paid for the cruise line excursion but we got to experience so much MORE! Plus it was a private tour for just the four of us --- how could this be any better? Our guide was Arzu Altun. She was amazing! She had great knowledge of all the sights we visited and managed our tour incredibly well. The pace was comfortable and she built in just the right amount of free time for us to explore on our own. She was well-spoken, personable and truly professional. My kids said they wanted her to come with us on the rest of our trip to be our tour guide at our other stops! She was THAT good!I highly recommend Osman Turism and Arzu to anyone considering a tour of the Kusadasi and Ephesus area.

Tour of The Ephesus
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

We did a Tour from the Ruby Princess Cruise Ship in 2012. It was certainly an amazing place to visit - apart from the heat. If you are intending to see the Ephesus, DONT go in July/Early August. it is just tooooo hot. It is such an amazing place to visit that it's a shame if you are rushing it so that you can get back to the air conditioned bus!! I would actually like to go again when it's cooler so that I could concentrate better on what we were being told. However, the history is unbelievable and this is an attraction well worth seeing. I have had to indicate below that it was in 2014 because there isn't anything to click on for 2012.

Excellent tour

We were in Selcuk in September 2014 and really enjoyed our tour with Arzu. She was an encyclopedia of knowledge and provided us with a really wonderful tour of all of the sites! She was also great with my 21 month old daughter. Very patient and thorough with us, and overall, it was a fabulous tour that I would highly recommend to anyone going to Turkey.

Testimonials & Reviews

I booked online with Ephesus Breeze as an alternative to the cruise ship sponsored excursions for a one day tour for myself and my two teenage sons. Booking was simple. We paid a small deposit via paypal, and then the balance in cash in US dollars at the end of the tour. The fee included all entrances.”
