Amazing history with an excellent tour guide
My wife and I booked this tour based on all the good reviews on TripAdvisor. We were accompanied by Mrs. Hulya Acar. We we transported in a luxury vehicle. Hulya informed us with more than adequate information about Ephesus, the house of Mary and Turkey in general. She answered all our questions professionally and with passion. We stopped at a small family owned carpet manufacturing farm. We found this very interesting, even though we couldn't afford any carpets. We were treated with a very nice lunch here.Thank you Hulya for your outstanding personal service, we will gladly recommend YOU to anyone else.
ET phoned home after all...
As a company Ephesus Tours was always on the ball with quick responses. I even requested Gonca and she showed up at the airport with our driver for an all day tour of the sites. We loved the info and her style. Very easy to talk to and informative. She fit in perfectly with what we needed in a guide. Great English too. We went to Ephesus first, off to lunch at a Nomadic restaurant which was very good, and saw the rugs and ceramics show, and had time for the Port of Ismur. My wife even had to buy a Turkish rug... a VERY large one.
Ephesus - don't book a guided tour, do it yourself is best
I spent a day and half at Selcuk primarily to visit Ephesus. In Istanbul I was advised to book a one day tour tour of Ephesus and ancillary sites (House of Mary, Temple of Artemis). I arrived in Selcuk at midday the day before so went out to Ephesus myself. Thus I had the interesting opportunity of being able to compare a self guided tour and a guided tour. Self guided was infinitely better. Partly because the guided tour did not include the `terrace houses' for which there is a seperate entry charge and yet this is one of the most fascinating parts of the site as the decorative schemes of many of the houses survive. In addition the guided tour was at an elementary level and the site provides interpretative signage which was just as good as the guide. With the exception of the House of Mary the other attraction on the guided tour the Temple of Artemis is walking distance from Selcuk as is St John's Basilica (which was not part of the tour but is well worth visiting). The tour included a very poor quality lunch (overcooked mush which had been in a bain marie all day) and unwanted stops at two shops. At $50 is was poor value. If you stay in Selcuk self- guiding at Ephesus is the best option. The site is only a short taxi-drive and can also be accessed by mini-bus for a few lira. Ephesus is wonderful!
Private Ephesus Tour is a great idea
Our private tour of Ephesus was awesome. Our tour guide, Arzu Altun, is a certified Professional Tourist Guide and has a degree in ancient history. She was very knowledgeable about Ephesus and Turkey and gladly answered any question we had about the region. The private van that picked us up from our hotel was very nice and spacious. The driver, along with Arzu, were very professional and hospitable. It was very easy to book the private Ephesus tour and Mr. Istemihan Teleri was very helpful in booking the tour. We highly recommend this company!
Excellent Private Tour Ancient City of Ephesus & More
We took a Mediterranean cruise in June and booked this tour through https://ephesusbreeze.com. It was a good value, with 4 of us in a private van, tour guide Ali, and a driver. Mr Ali was very personable and knowledgeable about the ancient sites and the current state of Turkey. Lunch was included at a small family farm with excellent food. At our request, this was followed by a demonstration of carpet making that the 4 of us greatly enjoyed. All around, an excellent tour with Ali and "About Ephesus" Tours.
Really felt the biblical history. Walked among the ruins and saw some interesting things. Example the ladies toilets and men's toilets. Glad I did it in June and not in the hot summer months when it is really hot.Had a delicious Turkish lunch while on tour.
Private Ephesus Tour with Arzu
What a wonderful tour with a terrific guide! We thoroughly enjoyed our half day tour with Arzu who showed us all around Ephesus. She was so knowledgeable and personable, very easy to travel with. She tailor made the tour with us, stopping at all the places we wanted to see. The prices were very reasonable, the air-conditioned Mercedes van was very comfortable and she was a joy to be with. Do not hesitate to book a tour with this group. It was perfect!
Private tour of Ephesus
We had a wonderful time on our private tour with Ms. Arzu. She was extremely professional and excited to show visitors around her country. She has a passion for Turkish history and made the ruins of Ephesus come alive. We thoroughly enjoyed our carpet demonstration and traditional lunch. She tailored our tour to what we were interested in and we hope to come back soon. It was truly a memorable day on our vacation!
Tour in Turkey
We recently took a Mediterranean cruise and booked most of the tours through the ship. The one exception was our day tour of Ephesus with Mr Ali and About Ephesus. I have to say it was the best of all. It was so nice to be in a private car with just a few people (4 of us), our own driver and guide. Mr Ali was very personable and eager to please us. He was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and always knew the answers when we had questions. He also was informed about the current state of the economy in Turkey. Lunch was include and it was great! We also saw a demonstration of silk weaving and carpet making (at our request). A great tour! Thanks Mr. Ali and "About Ephesus" Tours.
The tour of Ephesus was amazing. I was able to book my tour less than 48 hours before my private half day tour. They picked me up from my hotel in Izmir, and dropped my off at the airport afterwards. They get back to you immediately through email, I was very impressed. My tour guide Mert was great! Mert is a Turkey native with tons of knowledge of not only Ephesus, but all other historical grounds of Turkey. Great guide, and a great tour; I'd recommend to anyone who is interesting in visiting Turkey.
I would like to book,
Wondering what to see?
Basilica of St. John
The inhabitants of Ephesus moved to Ayasuluk after the 7th century AD, the Basilica of St. John substituted the church in Ephesus, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation.
Testimonials & Reviews
“Our Guide brought Ephesus to life for us & was extremely informative; we even had people listening to him & complimenting him on being a much better guide than theirs from other companies. He guided us expertly to be at the front of the queues & out of the heat as quickly as possible.”
