Full day cruise stop
We recently went on a 12 Day Med Cruise with a stop in Ephesus . We use Trip Advisor frequently to assist with travel decisions. We were so pleased to find Ephesus Tours. It was highly rated and lived up to the rating without question! Our guide Selda was very friendly, knowledgable, funny and perfect for 4 of us to spend the day with. Our driver was courteous as we toured in a Mercedes van. If anyone is looking for a great option versus the tours booked through cruise ships, at a lower price per person, I would highly recommend Ephesus Tours for the guides, comfortably vehicle and intimate experience.
Excellent Ephesus Tour
We were on a cruise but decided we would prefer a private tour for our family group of 7 people (age ranging from 11yrs - 73yrs!). The arrangements went smoothly with very prompt responses to our email enquires. We were met at the cruise terminal by Gonca, our guide. She was very friendly, spoke wonderful English and was knowlegable about all the historic sites and had planned our day around our requested sites. We would highly recommend visiting the terrace houses as part of the tour as these give a real insight into how daily life was in Ephesus. I would recommend this company to everyone as good value-for-money. You can either let them plan an itinerary or they will work with your plans and give you a fixed price for that. Excellent Tour
We arranged a private tour through Ephesus Tours (ephesusbreeze.com)for four of us from the Celebrity Constellation for October 22, 2013. All email arrangements were acknowledged quickly and information provided ahead was excellent and complete. We made a $20 deposit through PayPal and there was no problem with that. The driver and guide met us as planned, just off the cruise ship and we had a wonderful all day tour which included all the places we had requested. We visited the Temple of Artemis, the city of Ephesus including the Terrace Houses, the House of Mary, Sirince Village and had a delicious included traditional lunch in a nice outdoor area. We also visited a carpet shop during our lunch stop. We were escorted into the showroom and greeted. We told the man that none of the four of us was remotely interested in purchasing a carpet. He said to please look around as much or as little as we wished and feel free to leave. There was absolutely no pressure here. Our guide, Mrs. Selda Akyigit Tutkun, was excellent. She spoke English very well, was very informative, answered our questions well and made sure that we had the time we needed at each site. Our driver was also excellent. Because we had a separate guide, he could concentrate on navigating his way safely through the tangle of Athens streets. We also had a very comfortable vehicle for the six of us.This tour was so more complete and less expensive than the ship's tour. We also had a guide and driver for just the four of us. No big bus large group ship tour here. We highly recommend Ephesus Tours and their all day tour.
Excellent in Every Way!
Six of us from our cruise ship went together on this tour, and were very pleased. We did the full day Ephesus tour. Our guide wonderful Filiz was at the port right on time. She led us to a very comfortable van with a private driver and sound system so we could all hear. The historical sites were absolutely fabulous, and Filiz was really knowledgeable. We even enjoyed the rug factory! The complimentary lunch was delicious and the rug making demonstration genuinely interesting. Then came "display" time, and since we knew about it ahead of time, even that was fun. We all came away with our pocketbooks intact. We had some flexibility with the schedule after that, but we chose to head back to Kusadasi and shop a little bit. Ephesus was a highlight of our trip, and this is one place where you definitely want to hire a tour. I'd highly recommend this company!
Beautiful and captivating
My parents and I recently spent a day in Turkey and wanted to be able to experience as much as we could with what limited time we had. We booked a tour through Ephesus Tours and it was exceptional, it truly turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. Our guide, Canan, was very thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the day, she shared many fascinating details about the historic sites that we visited as well as allowing us a glimpse into not only what daily life was like back in ancient Turkey but present day Turkey as well. Perhaps the best complement I can pay Canan and Ephesus Tours, is that because of them, I will return to Turkey, as one day just isn't enough in such a beautiful and captivating country.
Ephesus Tours
We had a wonderful private tour of Ephesus with our guide Ms Gonca. We were met at the appointed time at the pier where the cruise ship docked. Our minivan was clean and more than large enough to accommodate the 4 of us on our private tour. Ms Filiz was a delight. She was knowledgeable, spoke good English and answered all our questions both about the history and about life in Turkey today. All our entries fees were paid for and a lovely local lunch was provided. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a more affordable private tour of Ephesus than is offered from the cruise lines.
Tour of Ephesus
I researched a number of sites before I chose Aboutephesus as our tour company. It was an excellent choice. We had a private tour with a guide and driver. Our guide Hakan, spoke perfect english. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The cost was less than the ship tour and we got to see a lot more. All of the entry fees were covered which also included the terrace houses. Our guide met us at the ship and we had a nice Mercedes van. I would highly recommend this company for a tour of Ephesus.
Tour was above and beyond my expectations!!
Let me start by saying, that was one of the best tours I have ever experienced thanks to our tour guide Arzu and her driver. My husband and I appreciated Arzu’s honesty, knowledge, and storytelling abilities to bring the past to life. Thank you for sharing some of the Muslin beliefs with us and how we are all connected through the Virgin Mother’s home. It is one thing to see and hear about amazing places, but when the culture and present day is so artfully combined, the experience is priceless. Ephesus was amazing. We enjoyed learning about how the city would have operated on a daily basis from the top to bottom. I am so glad Arzu was excited as I was to talk through the terrace houses to learn more about everyday life and gain an appreciation of how the hot/cold water would flow the homes. She was so patient with all of my questions and carefully explained the hows and whys in great detail. The terrace houses were included in the price of our private tour and this is a MUST see to really gain an appreciation of the culture and life style. We enjoyed a typical Turkish meal at the school on our way back to the ship. The variety of fruits, vegetables and meats were more than generous and very tasty. I had read many reviews good and bad regarding this stop which leads to the Turkish Rugs. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised! After learning how the rugs are made with various materials I gained a true appreciation of the art. I found the flying carpets interesting and beautiful. Yes, this suppose to be a sales stop and we were shown many rugs with a sales pitch. We politely told the gentleman that we would not be able to purchase a rug at this time and he was NOT pushy or rude. As far as the minivan and driver – both were excellent. The twists and turns did not sit too well with me, but I cannot blame this on the driver. As an owner of a travel agency, I would recommend this company to any of my clients and I will request Arzu Altun as their guide
Greatly exceeded expectations
Ephesus tours is absolutely great. There prices were much lower than the bus tours off the ship and we had a private tour! The tour guide, Sonca, was excellent. Besides being very knowledgeable about Ephesus she gave us a lot of insight into Turkey and their lifestyle. The driver was good. They met us right outside the port entrance at 8:15 and we were the first visitors to Mary's House that morning. We literally had the monument to ourselves. We had read the crowds there can be huge and the site is very small. Ephesus was the highlight of our cruise. It is amazing- and have Sonca made it even better. We made our own pace and took all the time we wanted at certain parts of the old city. All entrance fees were included plus a very good lunch was included.
Book your own taxi instead of taking a tour from the cruise ships.
We have just arrived back from a cruise which included Kusadasi and booked a taxi with Yucel Bor.I contacted him before we sailed and he met us just outside the port. What a lovely man, he was so helpful and took 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children, to Ephesus. He stopped for photos on the way, dropped us off at the top gate, showed us where to get our tickets, then met us 2 hours later at the bottom gate and returned us to the port. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this man and he only charged us 49 Euros. Thanks yucel!! E-mail [email protected]

Testimonials & Reviews
“I booked online with Ephesus Breeze as an alternative to the cruise ship sponsored excursions for a one day tour for myself and my two teenage sons. Booking was simple. We paid a small deposit via paypal, and then the balance in cash in US dollars at the end of the tour. The fee included all entrances.”
