Wow...this tour was the BEST!!!!

We decided to sidestep the expensive tour offered by Celebrity Cruises and hire our own driver and guide through About Ephesus Tours. It is easy to book the tour online and required just a minimal deposit. What a deal! For $150 the two of us had a private car, driver and tour guide. Our tour guide, Gurkan Nakipolu, had a major in tourism and history. He met us at our ship and whisked us away for an awesome day. Gurkan was so knowledgeable of what we were seeing and the history behind. We toured all Ephesus had to offer and had a great traditional lunch in the backyard of a school for rug making, which we also toured with the owner. This is an impressive operation that I would recommend to anyone, and at a very attractive price.

THE BEST EPHESUS TOUR

There were 6 adults in our group. They picked us up at port in a comfortable van,we had our own personal tour of Ephesus, Terrace houses,Temple of Artemis,House of Virgin Mary, then a wonderful lunch. We then had the option of going to a carpet ,ceramic, and leather store. We only did the first 2 and after being in Kusadasi twice before we still learned more, at the shops and also on the tour. Our guide Selda was very knowledgeable and a real sweetheart. We wish her well in her new marriage! This by far was better and less costly than the the ships tour which we had taken twice before. https://ephesusbreeze.com

Great tour in Ephesus

Our guide Felicia met us at the ship eventhough we were uncertain about the time of arrival. She greeted us pleasantly and took us to the awaiting van and out tour began immediately. Felicia was knowledgeable about all the sites and we learned many new facts beginning with a tour of Mary's house and ending with a tour of a carpet maker( we only than began to appreciate the art and time put into these beautiful tapestries) not overlooking the main attraction-Ephesus-its library, agora and stadium. I found out about this tour-About Ephesus Tours from trip advisor and I was not disappointed. It increased my appreciation of archeology, history and religion much more than reading from books. The trip certainly enhanced any prior superficial knowledge and Felicia helped us to appreciate the agriculture and the customs of the people.Felicia was professional most soft spoken and quite caring. At times, she even pointed out the best perspectives for pictures. Book with them you will be happy you did.

Ephesus - High Point of Trip

Thanks to Omur and About Tours, Ephesus was our favorite port of call. Our guide was extremely courteous, knowledgeable about everything from antiquities, to agriculture, and even funny. Omur has a degree in archeology and had worked on the digs at Ephesus and provided more than just tour guide spiel. We began with the stop at the House of the Virgin Mary - Meryama. We arrived ahead of the tour busses as was the case the rest of the day. We then proceeded to the ruins of ancient Ephesus. We also visited the ruins of the Temple of Artemis. Its sheer size was amazing even though only one of the 100+ columns remains on the site.Nuts and bolts: we were met at the ship; vehicle was very comfortable (driver spoke no English); all admissions were included; lunch is included at the government run Turkish rug cooperative. Lunch was quite good. Watching the processes there was interesting.Be strong when you get to the part of the Rug making tour where the sales pitch is made. We were the only people there at the time ahead of the tour busses as we had been all day. We did buy a rug, but the way out to the area where we had lunch is lined with other merchants hawking jewelry, collectibles and a variety of other items.Once again the tour is much less expensive than the ship offerings and far superior in terms of attention. Omur presented us with a small gift bag as soon as we arrived. The major find in the bag was a very nice refrigerator magnet.

Fantastic Tour

Eight of us (4 couples) had the privelege of visiting Ephesus with Osman Tourism and our guide Cidem. Cidem made our visit to Ephesus one of complete awe through her great knowledge of the site, her enthusiam, professionalism, diligence and her wonderful positive spirit. We were given a private, air conditioned van and a careful, professioonal driver! We spent quite a bit of time at the Terrace Houses which were absolutely amazing and an absolute must see. We also were taken to a rug weaving display which turned out to be most informative and enjoyable (not the pushy sales display we were dreading!). We were even presented with a bag of memorable trinkets from Osman Tourism at the end of our tour, just an added little bonus that let us know how much th e company appreciated our business. I would HIGHLY recommend not just this tour of amazing Ephesus, but particularly, using Osman Tourism for your tour.

Ecellence in Ephesus

Our experience with Osman Tourism was just excellent. We had the privilege of getting Elcin as our guide and she was just wonderful! She was on time, friendly, fun and very knowledgeable about the historical background of the areas that we had the opportunity to see. She stopped and told us facts as we toured the different areas and our walk through old Ephesus was just an incredible memory maker for us. We had a great lunch at an outdoor area in a rug factory and just had a wonderful day. We highly recommend Osman and ask for Elcin for your guide if you get the chance!

We arranged a 6-hour private tour of Ephesus and we were delighted with all that we saw for a significant savings over cruise ship tour prices. Our guide, Selda, was knowledgeable and charming. We highly recommend this tour!!

trip from kusadasi to ephesus

we joined the tour organised by our cruise although we wanted to go there independently so we could spend more time and save some money, but since we couldnt find all the 'confirmed' information online such as the cost of the local guide or the availability of the audio as without a proper guide, Ephesus is just a ruin with lot of stones, at the end we settled for the tour, but looking back, we wished we didnt as Ephesus is only 20-30mins drive from kusadasi and there are plenty of taxi one can hire, meaning lot of competition so if you are good, you could really negotiate a good price, also, there is audio guide available in Ephesus which only costs 10TL to hire (about USD4), and we wished we had gone on our own as we could really spend half day there, but instead we were rush to finish the Ephesus in about 2 hours (not long enough when you are traveling in groups) for they were eagar to give us the carpet demostration afterwards, not mentioning we each were paying USD60 on this trip which you could easily go on your own to save half of the price and enjoy Ephesus longer.

Fantastic Tour

Our group of 4 couples were arriving on a Celebrity cruise and wanted a private tour of Ephesus. From the first correspondence, I found Mr. Istemihan Teleri to be honest, prompt and informative. He allowed us to tailor make our tour adding visits to the House of Mary, the Terrace Houses (phenomenal - not to be missed) and the heritage village of Sirince. His price was less than any other company contacted. I did inquire about the visit to the art gallery and was told honestly that these visits subsidize your tour by paying entry fees to the different sites. We actually found the visit informative - saw how silk threads are harvested and then watched several girls creating rugs and tapestries. The lunch was also quite good. The salesmen were a bit pushy but not nearly as aggressive as ones we have encountered in Morocco. I cannot speak highly enough of our guide Cidem. Cidem is very friendly and knowledgable which helped make our tripto Ephesus very enjoyable. Cidem is very enthusiastic and diligent guide who is easy to get along with and who makes sure she takes you to everything you ask and then explains each site in a detailed and informative manner. I would highly recommend her. In addition our van was very comfortable with AC and was clean and well maintained. Our driver was professional and very friendly. This was a wonderful day overall thanks to About Ephesus tours.A tour with Ephesus Tours will not disappoint

Excellent Ephesus Tour (ephesusbreeze.com)--"Muge" Tour Guide
stars 5 out of 5, Reviewed on

Took a bit of a risk and pre-booked this personalized tour for my wife and self with a non-cruise company provider. Normally, we would book through the cruise line, typically at twice the price. Muge, our guide from Osman,(pronounced "moogay" ) met us promptly at the cruise terminal, provided an excellent/upscale vehicle and driver, and completely described each component of what we wished to see. An excellent traditional lunch was also provided along the way. Highly recommend Osman Tourism as the host provider, and Muge, for this type of tour(see About Ephesus Tours). We've seen lots and this company is clearly a top notch service provider.

Testimonials & Reviews

We were on a 2-week cruise throughout the Mediterranean and thanks to reading reviews like this one, we decided to book a private tour through Ephesus Breeze. It turned out to be one of our best decisions on the trip and one that I would recommend without any reservation.”
